Does anyone know why they advise you to sleep up right I’m 3 days post op and my boobs are no pain at all. But my back is another story from sleeping up right. I am in absolute agony from this..
How long do I have to sleep upright for?
And why do I even have to sleep upright?

    Thank you xxx x x

I asked my nurse at my post op appointment and she said ideally I need to sleep properly upright for a full 2weeks and if I’m struggling I can start to reduce the incline. But she would reccomend me trying to sleep like that for the full 6 weeks. But avoid my side compeltly. I think it’s to stop the implant moving, cause if your on your side the implant can move from the position it should be in. That’s why they don’t want you on your side at all in the first 6 weeks. It helps with swelling aswell. If you google it thought most surgeons say you can sleep on your back after 5 days, they all have different rules but all them reccomend no side sleeping x

My nurse said it’s to drain the fluid down and away from the area, and to help you breathe because the swelling puts pressure on your chest.
    Good luck. Xx
