I’m 5 weeks post op and just noticed today when I happened to stretch my arms up near a mirror without my bra on that I have what looks like a little tube under my skin starting from the outer edge of my left incision and going down about 1 and a half inches. So I also did the same on my right side and there seems to be something similar in a similar position but just running about 1/2 inch down. Neither of them are painful at the moment. I haven’t seen or felt it before now but cos I had unders I’ve avoided massively stretching in the early weeks and that’s the only time it’s visible.

Does this sound like Mondor’s cord? If so has anyone else had it, how long post op did it take to come out and how long did it take to go, and did it ever become painful?

I’m seeing my surgeon this week anyway so I can mention it then but it’d be good to hear from other people.

It’s an inflammation of a superficial vein near your breast tissue usually near the site of the surgery. It’s not meant to be harmful and supposed to resolve on its own in time.

But I was just wondering if I could expect it to become painful or how long I could expect to have it.

Looking at more pictures I do think it’s Mondor’s. I don’t think I’m ever going to be happy with my boobs if I have this for months too 🙄

That’s fine blondie90. I haven’t got any pics up, plus you can only really see it in certain lighting so I’m not sure how well it would capture in a picture! I’ll see if my bf can see it when he gets in lol.

How far post op are you? I think sometimes the edges are the worst bit of the incisions and last to heal. My incisions are still a bit red in places and I seem to have little spots or irritated skin near them which makes them look worse. I hope that sorts itself out too!

Oh I hope mine aren’t either lisalu71, maybe I’ve had them a while and just not even realised. x

Ah never hun, have you seen your surgeon about it to get things confirmed or talk it through? There’s just so many things that we might have to deal with, you kind of hope you’ll be in the majority that doesn’t have a complication but you never know. If there is anything wrong though that won’t resolve itself I’m sure they will sort it out for you.

I’m 5 weeks post op. I’m not even happy with them and haven’t been since day 1 cos I think they still look small and not in proportion with my lower body which was why I wanted the BA in the first place, but that’s a whole other topic in itself 😉

Honestly girls, in the early days and weeks after havin a ba u have so many worries and every little, or big, thing seems to seem like it wont ever resolve. But after havin my first ba i can assure that things do usually get better till u wonder why u were ever worried. This time ive got lumpy scars, my boobs are on fire right now!, and the nipples are crinkly following my lift! But i know its only 11 days post op and likelyhood is it will all settle and ile end up with a nice pair of boobies. So im trying ot to let it bother me and see what happens. But of course if u have any concerns raise then wih the nurse to at least put your mind at ease xx
