Smoking and healing after BA's

Hi all

Any smokers out there had their BA’s ?

Did you continue with smoking pre and post your Op , my BF’s worried about the effects of my smoking and asking me to at least cut down while recovering , does it really make that much difference ??

I know I should just stop but I would find it so difficult , my BF says he will cut down too which could help a little I guess.

Anyway just some opinions please and also wether you did stop or cut down yourselves if your a post op smoker.

I have managed to cut down to 3 A day from 20 I am tryin to stop to b4 my ba because wen I was doing some researching it sed smoking can higher the risk of getting cc so I am just giving it a go xxx

I smoked pre op, only managed to cut down to about 8 a day lol smoked on morning of op an as soon as i was discharged i smoke the same amount as i did pre op. I am completely fine ive healed REALLY well my scars are so tiny an really light pink, its best to stop or cut down as best you can but i was told smoking would make my scars purple an they are no where near that colour lol it prob depends on the person! some girls have never smoked in there life an heal really badly so i think its about ur own body an the luck of the draw! i think the only thing that will make me stop is getting pregnant lol have no will power at the moment! xx

I’ve just had my BA this morning, I smoked 3 today! Didn’t smoke before though but I foun it really hard and I doubt u could just stop coz i smoke about 12 a day!Hopefully I will be like Flickr and still heal fast!! Fingers crossed x x

Ok thx for the replies , just wondered what others had done , i’m just gonna try n cut down as much as I can , theres no way i can stop.

I cut down before to about 3 a day but the night i got home i was smoking quite a bit again and have done since and so far im healing nicely and im 10 days po
