I don’t smoke but the nurse said it prevents healing as well which is why they advise you not to smoke xxx

I gave up smoking 4 days ago. I’m not going to lie its really hard! But everytime I have a craving or would normally have a cigarette (in the car, on lunch etc) I chew a normal chewing gum for 10 minutes. As far as I’m concerned though, the healthiness of my new boobies (feb 11th!!) is more important than smoking, is going to save me money and I am going to feel awesome when I am healthy and have nice boobs!! You can do it babe xx

Try your hardest honey, imagine all the lovely bras you will buy with the spare cash you will have, and how healthy you will feel, lots of members have posted that they did smoke, but they are the lucky ones, look at this that I found on the internet, dont want to scare you but,if you could try to stop,I personally think it would be good for your healing. And why take a chance with your health when you’ve spent all that money on your beautiful new boobs.xxxx

I’m a smoker and was advised to give up…but I didn’t! Ooops!! I was even smoking on my way to highgate – there was no way I could have handled a 4hr car ride without it.

Within a couple of hours of being discharged from Highgate, I was smoking again!

It hasn’t affected my healing in the slightest – but what you’ve got to remember is that everyone is different. Just because I have healed well – it doesn’t mean that you will (I wish I had given up because its a horrible habit.)

    Hope this helps :) x

I smoke around 10 a day (more at the weekends!) but I have only had one this month and my op is in a week so I have to stick it out for a bit longer! I’m finding it really tough without drink as well. I stopped because I’m really scared of dying on the operating table as I’ve never had GA before and the nurse told me it can have a negative effect on the anaesthesia as smoking lowers the oxygen in your blood or something….

But like what’s been said on here, everyone is different and some people carry on and have no problems at all like littelexi, but personally, I would advise you to stop or at least cut down hun, good luck xx

I did not stop at all.. smoked 15 a day pre op and 15 day post op…. only had three on the day of my BA xxx

I healed fine and had no difficulties xx

I wud say personal choice – but in all fairness if u can cut right down or stop even better xxx
