Argh i just feel so confused at the moment… i swing from being definate about going ahead to thinking i should wait. My parents are really unhappy about it and really want me to wait a few years, keep saying i’m doing it for all the wrong reasons, as they think i’ll change my mind. I am only 18 so i realise that I am young to have a BA, but i am so unhappy with how I am at the moment. For me it is now or in like 7 years time, i am off to Uni for 5 years in september, and i think it is unlikely i will be able to have it done whilst i am there. I just think i will regret it for the next 5 years if i don’t do it. But I am so scared about it going wrong and have everyone say “I told you so.”

Argh so difficult. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice/experiences would be really appreciated :( xxx

I was going to have mine done 5 half years ago and went for consultation and was just about to pay deposit when I met my husband, I decided at the time to wait as I could see the relationship getting serious and thought we would probably have kids in the very near future, Now 5 half years on, married with one toddler, and Im due to have my BA in2 weeks because I regret that I didnt do it then. Im 25 now so I was young when I first was going to get it done, but i think you know with this kind of thing because its not something whereby the insecurities just appear theyve been there since your body started developing, wel mine were anyway!!

    Hope this helps a little.

In terms of it going wrong, there are risks with any procedure you do, as long as you are using a registered surgeon and you are doing for yourself and yourself only then everything should be fine.

Okay so you are rather young however old enough to know your own mind and what you want. If you plan to have children in the near future then I would wait. But if not, then I would go for it, I’d have done it years ago if I could. I am only 23 and had mine yesterday.. best decision ever, and really boosts your confidence. I understand what your parents are saying however if you plan to go to uni and set up a future which will take a good 7yrs then I think you deserve to make yourself as happy and confident as you can.. BUT ultimately it is your decision and can not be influence by us or your parents. Do what you feel is best hunni xxx

And with regards to it going wrong.. there is a slim chance so long as you do your research properly and chose the right surgeon for you. They are all fully registered at MYA and loads and loads of really helpful girls on here to ask advice and will help you with stories and experiences! xxx

I’m 19 and I just got mine done on Tuesday, no regrets. If its what you want, and will help to boost your confidence, go for it. :) xx

I dont plan on ever having kids so this wasnt a concern for me.

If you want it then go for it!! x

I always planned on having mine done when I was 18, and im very lucky my mum always said when I was ready she would help me out financially as she had hers done in her early 30s and wishes she hadn’t waited so long. . . As it worked out I didn’t have them until I was 23 and had one child. . . And kick myself for not just going for it when I was 18!! I plan on having another child in 5years but if proper care is taken they should be fine ( also I learnt from my first im quite lucky my body didn’t change at all ) and I’ll have to have a re op one day anyway! I just knew I couldn’t wait another 5years again, and like u said your going to uni for 5years so I think if your in the position to do it then go for it, they are the best years of your life why not look your best whilst your living em :) xx

I’m 26 now and having mine done in 4weeks, I’ve wanted mine done since I was 18 and glad I waited, 18 is young and ur body may still change alot, but then on the other hand it may not.. I’m glad I e waited n plus financially at 18 I cudnt afford it n wudnt want to get it on finance… I believe now I’m doing it for all the right reasons and financially in a good place.. But each girl is different huni.. Sum company won’t do silicone implants on under 21year olds though xx

Thanks everyone. It is so difficult, as it is such a massive decision that will impact the rest of my life. Part of my reasoning for having it now is that I don’t want to wish the next 5 years of my life away, the years you spend at uni should be the best of your life… and i know i will look back and regret it if i don’t do it. But then on the other side I think what if i end up regretting having them done?!

I’m sure my body will not change, none of my sisters have boobs, and the surgeon even told me that was it. I am in the fortunate position to have savings and be able to do pay for it myself now. But whether my perception of my body will change i don’t know. I don’t think it will… but who can say eh?! x

I personally don’t think the perception of your body really changes when you’ve thought something for so long, but as long as you do your research and go with a certified surgeon that you feel comfortable with, you will be fine.

Good luck with whatever decision you make!

I wanted to have it done since I was 16. I am 27 now and will have them done in less than two weeks. I think it was good that I waited. My boobs didn’t change much, but the rest of my body. And I feel much more confident in my decision now, knowing I really waited a long time to see if I can live without. Hope I won’t regret it but for now just looking forward to.

I’m 18 & had mine done on Friday! I knew I wanted it done & even though my parents weren’t keen, I knew I wouldn’t change my mind & would regret not having it done. Im sure most people who have had it done wish they could have had in done sooner, and if you know it’s what you want, then why not? Your old enough, it’s your own body, & im sure your parents will come round. My dad is a very strict Muslim & even he came around in the end! I know even if they didn’t I would have got if anyway! If it will make you happy then go for it xx
