    Hi girls,
I posted on here a few days ago worried that one of my incisions was infected but I got some swabs taken and it came back that it wasn’t infected. I had a build up of fluid which my nurse drained out a bit and then a few days later I had an appointment to see my surgeon for him to check it over. He though that it did look infected and seemed shocked/confused that I hadn’t already been given antibiotics. He has given me until Monday to see if the antibiotics kick in but said that if there is no improvement then he will need to re operate. I had to change my dressing today and the inscion looks much worse. There was a slight hole in it before and now it is huge and there is still fluid leaking out of it 🙁 I’ll attach a picture but be warned its quite gross!! I think there is no chance that the hole will close up on its own so I’m deffinetely going to need a re op! I don’t even mind having the operation itself I’m just so worried about having to take even more time off of work. My nurses have been absolutely lovely and so helpful through this whole thing but I can’t help but think that if I was just put on antibiotics right away then there may have been more chance of it healing. It’s pointless blaming anyone now though as it would probably have happened either way and I just need to deal with it. It’s just such a shock as I’m 5 weeks post op so really thought that I was in the clear.
I just can’t wait for this all to be over so I can actually enjoy my boobs! I still don’t regret having it done just wish this wasn’t happening xxx

Owwww rachel babe ☚ī¸ If i could give you a big hug right now i would, ive heard a similar story on here about a girl being certain she had an infection an the nurse just dismissed her. Hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick an they’ll just need to stitch the hole! Fingers crossed for you chic, what a nightmare. They are a lovely size!! I really hope you get this sorted asap ❤ī¸â¤ī¸â¤ī¸

I had a reop a few days ago 5 yrs after my first op – capsular contracture developed around 2 blood clots that believe were there during my first op – I’ve had to have my implants out and replaced with new ones which have not given me the shape so far that I wanted. At least if you can get this done early it saves complications down the line. As rubbish as it is at least is been caught early enough xxx

I know how you feel, I got a heamatoma 2 days after my op and had to be operated on again, I have constant anxiety now that something else is going to happen to me and so stressed about having to take more time off work.

Sorry I haven’t been on here for a few days. I went in to see my surgeon on Monday and he had to remove my implant. Although the swabs came back negative he said the risk of infection is too high and it needs time to heal. I have to wait 6-8 weeks to have it put back in which in the grand scheme of things isn’t a long time but to me feels like a lifetime! I was honestly devistated, i cryed no stop the day of the surgery and the next day but I’m dealing with it better now.
@louella sorry to hear you had complications too, I hope that everything is sorted for you now. It is so stressful worrying about work but it’s unavoidable and hopefully your work have been understanding, mine have been very good so far ?

I’ve just read through some of your posts and you’ve really been through it ? I’m so happy that you have now got your re op booked in though, it must feel so good to finally have a date to focus on!
Thanks for all of your replies ? I keep trying to remember that it’s not going to be forever, just going to be a bit of a rubbish summer now haha xxx
