SO UPSET

Lets try to cut this story short..when i had my daughter over a yr ago i had an issue with my iron count and i was always passin out..so they but me on tablets n it went fine.Neway its never been an issue since untill las week i went to give blood and they sed to me i couldnt becuz my iron count is just below the marker to giv blood but the nurse told me its nuffin 4 me to worry about alot ov peoples r like this i just cnt give blood.so i decided get sum iron tablets from the chemist to take myself.i have my opp on wednesday and mya wanted me have a blood test..but my doctor sed he dusnt see the reason because my last iron count is normal reading..and i couldnt have 1 done in time.i understand they have to do there job proper but i had an opperation just before xmas where i had to go under anersetic and i was fine…ive been waitin for this 4 so long n i feel like its goin to get cancelled and i will be waitin longer…! if anything my iron would be higher anyway because i have been taking the tablets and i feel fine in myself i dnt feel tired or like im goin pass out.. im got wait see wot mr alvi decision is monday im so gutted xx

aww im sorry to hear this hun, i had similar thing happen to me, but with a low platelet count.my op was cancelled and ive just managed to get a surgeon who will do my op, but i had spend 5 months under a heamatologist first and recently i finally got the go ahead for my ba. good luck,it may all go ahead so try not 2 worry, bless ya hun, i know how stressful it is xx

i No its really annoyin…obviously i understand if its low they cant go ahead but even the nurse told me its nuffin to worry about…!! im goin be so gutted if its cancelled im tryin not think about it but its so important…n my partner has booked time off work n weve arranged everything around my little girl…!! im jus hoppin he sees it as its okay…my pacient co ordinator sed she cnt seein it bein an issue now but she sed its all dwn to my alvi xxx

yeh i was exactly the same hun, i got a babysitter 4 my daughter, got all my transport sorted, parent had booked time off work to help me etc, i was well furious, when will you find out?? xx im keeping my fingers crossed 4 ya chick!! xx

Fingers crossed u will be fine!!! My iron count was low and i didnt want to take the iron tablets for it clashing with something else i have rong with me so i told mya this and they said to be honest i would be fine anyway and that was the end of it so i went under anasthetic with low iron and there was no probs :o) xxx

I had my op on 7 jan 2010, the day before my op i got a call on my mobile (good job it was on my desk so i could see as it was on silent) it was my PC, i had a heart op when i was 4 and apparently they had wrote to my doctor to get the all clear to do my op, my doc had not replied as the letter he recieved only advised him i was going to have the op and said he only needed to reply if there was any reason they shouldnt do it. Anyways MYA claim they sent an attatchment that they required him to fill in, they waited untill the day before my op to tell me this and had me and my partner totally stressing and having to go back tom the docs and then fax and emailing the letter to pc – surgeon – top nurse at doncaster, i think they are a little unorginised and they should have had this all sorted at least a week before my op as it did spoil the experience for me slightly.

Anyways i think if you can get it in writing from your doc that your fit and well and able to have op then you should be ok, but i know how your feeling and its crap, on day of my op i still didnt think i was gonna be having them done it was awful .

Wen are u Havin ure Opp done then mizzpink..? i find out 2mra or either on the day tuesday …thanks Jenn i think they are jus makin a big deal out of nothin..Even wen ure irons seriously low u have symtoms like i did before n ive had none of this i feel absolutley fine….even the nurse sed its nuffin worry about most peoples are like this…i wish i neva opened my mouth now….cuz my docs sent letter bk sayin my health is fine :@…!! i no its like a couple of days before my opp now n i dont even feel excited because i dont no if its happenin and ive got go stay in a hotel n pay for tha 2mra nite n i still mite not av it done tha nxt day but yer fingers crossed thanks girls….i will be on ere asap tellin u about my experience if i have lol ….xxxx

Babe honestly you will be fine, my iron is low and my weight and they told me i needed to get to 8 stone b4 having my op which shouldnt have proved to hard as i was 7.10 anyway on the day of the op i weighed 7.6!!! they still went ahead and done it. you should be fine! let me know what they said monday babe/ x

well im booked for the 4th march, but still have heamatolgy tests this wedsndsay to make sure my blood levels havent gone any lower, so its still a bit of a waiting game, arrghh!! how annoying for ya,so you gotta travel up there,pay 4 a hotel etc.thats not on, cant you just tell them to let you no before then like 2morra afternoon?? my mum had an op, and shes aneamic but quite bad, and she was fine tho it wasnt elective surgery, but hopefully they will do it like they did joanee2479 xx
