Don’t know if its been asked before but how long after a BA is it safe to fly? I’ve not been to a consultation yet and would obviously ask there when I do but just wondering if anyone on here has asked?

Did anyone watch the programme with Alicia Douvel (not sure if that’s correct spelling) but her implant flipped on a flight so that’s always put me off abit.

Hey hun, when you have your initial consultation you will be told all this kind of information. If you decide to have your operation with MYA then after your surgeons consultation you will have a pre op appointment with the nurse and she will give you an information pack on the do’s and dont’s. Anyway, you can fly 3 weeks after for short haul flights and 6 weeks long haul. Also, the chance of your implant flipping while flying is virtually zero, I’ve never heard of that and I’ve been researching BA’s since I was 15. You may also hear about the myth of your implants bursting while flying; this is complete rubbish as the pressure needed to burst your implants would kill you first, which is impossible unless you jump out a rocket in outer space lol x
