Hi, I’m currently 4 weeks post op, does any one have any recommendations on a good supportive sports bra post op?
Also how long did everyone wait until starting back up running again?

Would be interested in this also as I’m a runner.

Anybody able to say when they went to the gym to work lower body? Was that 8wks also?

If I find anything in my research for sport bra that straps you in tight as hell for those runs then I’ll post it on here!

Thanks yes if you do find recommendations that would be great to pop them in here.

I was told atleast 6 weeks for the gym which would be 2 weeks away for me but little wary about what you can do at that point

I started light running after my 6 week post op check up as my recovery had been straightforward and my incisions were healing nicely. I was advised the reason they recommend you wait until 6 weeks to begin exercise is because of underboob sweat which can effect
how well your incisions heal in those first 6 weeks, so I’d definitely wait until you’ve had the all clear. I wear high impact sports bras for running/exercise and they keep me strapped on and feeling supported, my favourites are from Nike and Under Armour x

Thank you for the responses. Im 1wk post op anf very bored!!!!! Did you guys go for gentle walks post 2 wks? Any of you do lower body exersises in the gym at 4 wks?

Also, bit random, but did you guys take off the bandaging a few days after or did you wait until your post op appointment? My post op is another 10 days away. Have seen a lot of early day post op photos without thr dressings.
    Thanks all xx

I left my bandages alone until my 10 days post op appointment when the nurse removed them.
I started going for short walks after 1 week but it felt very strange and my body was so stiff. I felt like I was moving more naturally by about 4-5 weeks. I went back to the gym after 5-6 weeks to do lower body and then started light upper body exercises at about 8 weeks. I’m 3 months post op now and exercising is so much easier, there’s just some upper body exercises that feel very strange like pull down and I’ve not even attempted pull ups!

    Thanks for everyone’s responses 🙂

I didn’t touch my bandages until the nurse removed them at my 10 day pre op app, although they did start to lift with the rubbing of my bra.
I started short walks after a couple of days although felt out of breath, I can now walk atleast 10k but they did feel strange and felt like they hard-end up when I first started walking. X
