steri strips

Hiya, sorry if this question has been posted before but when were you told to remove your steri strips?

I had my 1 week check and she took the main plasters off and put strips on but I can’t remember when she said to take them off. I’m a bit nervous about my bra rubbing against the scar if I take them off but then I can’t leave them on forever!!

Hope someone can help xxx

hi rio! i was told to leave mine on for a week. soak in the bath for 20mins then take them off. they should come off fine then 🙂 xxx

Hi hun I was told about about 4-5 days, think anytime after that should be fine…as bex says, soak them in the bath for a while 1st so they’re easier to peel off x x

Oh one more question, when you took the strips off did you replace them with new ones or micropore tape or did you just leave them exposed. I’m 2 weeks post op now and can’t get hold of the nurse to check.

No when you take them off thats it. I was told not to moisturise or put anything on the incisions till after my check up with the surgeon. x x x
