Still sleeping all the time – 5 days post op?

Hi I stopped taking my painkillers yesterday as now pain free. Still taking the antibiotics 3 a day as I’m going to finish the course. These are Co-Amoxiclav is it possible that these are making me sleep?

I’m literally sleeping all day and night waking up every now and again to come on here and to eat! Don’t think I’ve been awak for longer than 1 hour at a time. Starting to have strange dreams now though as I’ve had too much sleep!!!!!

Is this normal? x

It took me around seven weeks to stop sleeping so much, even then I still slept more then usual, probs took around four months to fully get the GA out my system. I know it’s not much help, but it is normal did you sleep much first op? Xx

Joanna sounds daft but I can’t remember? My fiancé thinks I did but I took the painkillers all week and I thought they were what made you sleep.

I’m off work anyways so it doesn’t really matter I suppose x

I had the same problem until about 11 days PO and I am still very tired.

Am just like you Tracy, I can’t believe how much I’ve slept but stops me being bored ! I too arent taking the painkillers as am not in too much pain at all. How are you finding the swelling ? My left side is more swollen, am hoping this is normal ?

Hi Sarah I’ve had no swelling at all. My boobs look the same today as how they looked straight after the op! It is very strange and not sure whether this is because this is my second op.

It’s normal to experience swelling tho so don’t worry (it’s me that’s not normal, haha) and definately very normal for one to be more swollen than the other. You need to treat as 2 separate ops xxx

No Tracy I was like that for about 10days-2weeks, I felt shit & drowsy constantly 2nd time round. It’s not nice is it xxx

Really Amanda? I wonder why that is? Is it the antibiotics or just the op in general?

I’m going to Mchr on the train on Thursday for my 1 week check up. I’ll prob fall asleep on the train and miss my stop lol!

When I get back to work next week it’s gonna be tough!!! How are you? x

Yeah it really knocked me. It killed me going back to work, I defo went back to soon. I think it’s just trauma to your body that does it, I’m allergic to penicillin so had diff antibiotics to u so don’t think that would affect it.
