stitches and washing??? help needed girls xx

hey lovely ladies,..I had my 1 week post op stitches taken out today,..now have the little strips over scars and have to leave them on for 7 days. I was also told i can shower straight away,..has this been the same guidlines for some of you? as other girls I have spoken to have to wait longer to wash or have a less amount of days with strips on? appreciate the feedback and also i have a little blister one of my boobs just above my strip! nurse has put little plaster on it said was where bra had been rubbing etc. Any one else had a blister? was 34b now in a 34e sports bra xxxxxx

My 1 week check up was today too

I have little sterile strips over the incisions and they are to be kept on for 3 more days. Then, after three days i can have a full bath and soak them off and have a nice soak

Then I can only shower going forward and use a fresh towel every day on each of the boobs to prevent infection.

This seems to be pretty much the same advise the other girls have had

thanks babe its good to hear what other are doing,..nurse told me to shower tonight though just make sure shower off all showe gel etc,..pretty worried and dont knw what to do as dont want to have shower first night if everyone else seems to be waiting a couple more days. so after day three of keeping strips dry u can shower also? and when you say shower forward? do u mean a full on shower? ha oh god so many questions.thank god for this site and you lovely peeps! xxx

Hi hun i had mine 2day to i would go with what ur nures tells you coz every1 diff i have strips on and she said they just to go home in can take them off when i want and can shower/bath just dont get any soap on my scars and she said best way to dry them is with the hair dryer lol xx

I know… I wish we were all advised the same!!! it would help us sooo much!

I have to continue to shower my bottom half for the next 3 days (which is what I have been doing since my op as it is easier than getting in and out of a shallow bath ; I just keep my bra on and a T shirt to ensure I dont wet my top half).

Then, on day three/four I can have a big full bath, lay in it and soak off the strips. *this is the only time they advise you to have a bath until your next check up*

Then, after that bath on day three/four, I can have a full shower daily with Johnsons baby bath… not really using this around the breast area…. but because it is PH balanced it wont do any harm. Then by dabbing the breasts dry with a small towel (I will use a flannel per boob) you have to make sure you wash the towel each day to prevent infection.

Thats what i have been advised to do….

hey jamielynn thanks for replying,..yep nurse said that to me also bout hair dryer and has to be on lowest setting ha! arent we going to look cool drying our boobs! i just hope my strips are sticky enough to stay on the full 7 days. im goin to shower tomo IVE DECIDED hehe xxx

Awww you had stitches taken out?? I didnt! Mine are dissolvable babe. Maybe that is why we have been told different things?? Hmmmmmm xxx

I wore the strips for 3 days but could shower with them on and they should peel off naturally after about 3/4 days…

No lotions or oils for at least 6 wks x

i had stitches taken out bt had same advice as u cherry lol! she didn tell me jst to hav 1 bath then shower thou bt it does swnd better as u dont want them goin soggy as they need to dry up to heal. xx

Yeah I dont want soggy boobies…. they need to stay nice and dry!!!

Yeah i was told the same! YAY!!

I just cant wait for all the little grips and pains to go…. only a few left and I know they will take their time! xxx

ah i knw, i had 7 shootin pains in my left boob yest strait after eachother! wasnt nice lol.

i stopped takin my pain killers on xmas day an iv noticed how much sharper the shootin pains feel now lol!!

im feelin tight agen today now coz my nurse put new patches on, im feelin scared to move agen haha xx

I think we get a bit if boob greed. Altho I’m not sure what my brothers expected… They came over on Xmas day expecting to see me with Jordan style boobs!!! Lol

haha yeh my cousin seen me yest an she was lyk ‘where r they then?’ i was lyk, their still growing an my bras holdin me in haha!

they seem to hav grown a bit thou from my pics the other day an i tried a c + d sports bra on earlier an i fitted into both so god knws wa size i am lol, its hard to tell with sports bras init coz their huge anyway xx
