Stopped taking the pill…

Hiya girls, was told by the nurse to stop taking pill two weeks prior to op when I was speaking to her @ my pre-op. Had just stopped taking my last pack and was due to start my next one the following week. Thought there was no point because I’d have to stop two pills into the pack so left it. What will happen if I don’t take the pill for a month?? Will it mess my periods up?? Sorry if I sound dull lol I’ve been on the pill since I was 16 and never stopped taking it.

Hi hun,

I stopped a couple of weeks ago as my op is on the 1st. You might just be a bit irregular for a bit while your body settles down with the change in hormones and stuff, should get back to normal soon though. So your next period might be heavier or lighter, shorter or longer than usual, it shouldn’t affect you much really. Every body is different though xx

When i started taking mine again i just made sure i used condoms aswell for that 1st week as after a certain amount of time they wont work straight away. wow just well worried myself then thinkin f*****k not had my period since ive had my op done i dont think, shud be on this week…seems like ages, just had to plan it all out in my head to make sure i was ok lol xx

On the mini pill. Didn’t stop it before or after and no issues

Hiya! I stopped taking my pill like 3 weeks before as thats when i finished my last pill for the month and i didnt see much point in opening a whole new packet for one week lol.. Iv been bleeding a little irregularly but they’re fairly light so it hasnt bothered me much lol.. hopefully now though i wont be on for my op on the 7th June!! xx

im on microgynon and come back on as normla right on time. i didnt stop taking it before hand. my pack ran out a week b4 my op and i restarted it a week after my op when antibiotics had finished xx
