Stopping birth control / periods / help?!

hey ladies. went and saw nurse this morning for my pre op tests and she told me to stop taking my birth control pill today. i’m worried that if i stop mid pack i don’t know when i will come on and will be all over the place and possibly be on when i have my op and Mr C said that i should try to not have my period at that time. Also when i asked him he said i did not have to stop taking my pill. so confused as to whether i need to stop or not and is it dangerous to have op whilst on? sorry rambling a bit. any advice would be much appreciated xxx

Every surgeon gives different instructions.

Hope this isn’t too much info but I was on my period whilst having my op Friday & I just told nurse who was filling in all my admission forms & she asked ” tampon or pad ” & said it was fine.

I also was worried it would mess me up but nurse said 2 weeks after take again & I should be ok. X

I’m the same as soon as I stop my pill I know I’m going to be on for my op so annoying!

So is it ok to wear a tampon during op megan? x

Hey lovelies… I’m not sure if it will be the same for you, but I’m on Microgynon and when I stop mid pack, I normally come on within a few days. This is why they say stop taking it 2 weeks before…so gives your body enough time to have a period before op.

I’m stopping mine next week, but should be on last pill in the pack anyway… xx
