Stopping smoking before BA

Hi,

I had my first consultation last week and was told I would need to stop smoking 6 weeks pre op and for 6 weeks post op. Has everyone else been told this too? It’s going to be sooo hard!!

I was told two weeks before and two weeks after, you can smoke but it can affect the healing process, I’m trying to quit now so I’m prepared in September xx

Gah I’m having mine in September too. I so don’t want to give up. I understand why but it is going to be so hard! Goood luck!

Me neither I don’t know how I’m going to cope on the day of my op thank you and good luck too just remember what youre doing it for xx

This always makes me laff – if u can give up do so …

I smoked 15 a day pre op… 2 on the day of the op… and was to 15 a day at 4days post op. I healed fine.

Girls be careful wot u write on the forum bout smoking… as this goes on your medical notes and if u havbe probs healing they will say it is cause u smoked x

I cut down before op but couldnt stop completely. Mario was not happy tho, and made it clear he would have to remove my implants if i got an infection havent touched a cig now since day b4 op. which was 7 days today! Its been really hard but i just look down at my new boobies and thats my incentive to keep going! xx

No I deff am going to give up. I don’t want to cause complications. I just know how hard it will be! Smoked for 7 years and totally didn’t think I would have to give up for this!

I think if you really want the operation it can be done!!!!I’ve smoked for 15years and when I decided a tummy tuck is what I wanted I knew I had to give up……my mum refused to lend me the money if I didn’t quit!!!!so I stopped….went completely cold turkey and quit and because of the reason I haven’t looked back and can honestly say I don’t miss it……when people ask me if I want one I have a choice….a fag or a tt it’s that simple I know what I choose every time.x
