Can’t wait to get it off on Tuesday. Its itching like mad and starting to feel really tight. I’ve been sweating like mad to so its come away in places.
Just wanted to ask if it’s painful when it comes off and do they put dressings back over incisions? Xx
Hey Hun it’s annoying when it gets to that itching stage but hopefully when swelling goes down he strapping won’t be as tight. I used to put ice packs a lot and that helped soothe but also reduced the swelling quickly and helped the strapping get loose. It’s not really painful when it comes off mines wasn’t at all…the edges prickled a bit but the rest was fine and the nurse used something to take the edges off. I didn’t get any dressings put on my incisions as nurse said I didn’t need so I didn’t get any put over mine.
Ok thank you. I can’t wait to see them after but abit worried about seeing my incisions as they are bigger than normal he removed some skin at the same time xx
Ahhhh strapping is driving me crazy! So so tight and come away in places I have a blister on one side to, my mum put some talc powder down the sides today made it feel much better. Ice packs on loads too to try and get the swelling down! But like you I can’t wait to get this off on Tuesday. x
No @Zena haven’t seen them I just know that they are about 10cm long so I’ve been trying to work out where they start and end. Swelling has gone down alot today bit gutted tho I liked them bigger lol xxx
Hi Jemma, taking my strapping off was a relief rather than pain! It just felt like scratching an itch I had for a very long time, absolutely no pain whatsoever 🙂 I had to have dressing put over mine, not sure why as they have healed great! If you look in my pics you can barely see them so think it might be down to preference of the nurse/surgeon etc. Good luck 🙂 Bet you can’t wait xxx
