Hi Girls
I am on day 6 post op, and I still have the white strapping on the top of my chest. Does anyone know when it should be removed? Or am I better to just leave it on until I see the nurse in 3 days time?
Any thoughts, experiences, or feedback is most welcome!
Thanks

Think you need to leave it on and let the nurse remove it Hun. Xx
Hi Melissa
thanks for your post. Did you leave it on until you saw the nurse then?
The surgeon offered to take it off the day I was in the hospital…
What was your experience?
Thanks xXx
I didn’t have the strapping on Hun, but I think personally that I didn’t wanna mess with stuff till I seen the nurse for the first time cos if anything went wrong I didn’t want them saying it was cos of something I done. Does that make sense? I change my own steer strips now but the Nurse and Mr Traynor told me too do that. Xx
OK, thanks Melissa

the nurse removes it for you hun, i saw my nurse on day 6 and she removed my strapping and changed my dressings for me
ul feel soooooooooooo much better when u get the strapping off cu then u see the twins in all their glory hehe xx
Definitely leave it on Melissa! I was so glad I didn’t take mine off for the whole week even though I was in a bit of discomfort.I think its definitely benefitted me in the long run as they were properly supported for the first week which can make a lot of difference
xx
This post has been a great help too. Was wondering how long the strapping stayed on for.

forestbabe what strapping is this? i didnt have any
xxx
Oh- its a white strip of tape that is suck across the top of my chest.
I had droopy boobs- so it may have been to give some added support to my skin? Mr F said different people have different skin support and firmness- I don’t have much elasticity to my skin which is why maybe I have the strapping but he elected not to give it to you (- because your skin is young and supportive).
Your not missing anything though… it itches like a mo fo!
