Got my uplift and ba tomorrow at Park Hill, Doncaster. My admission time is 2pm. Been fine up until now, only had worries about youngest child after op. Now i’ve allsorts going thru my mind, like i hope my nips dont die (i’m having nipple area made smaller and mr k said it sometimes happens), i hope my hubby manages with kids tomorrow night while i’m not there (its always me that gets up with youngest as he doesn’t hear him) i’m still worried about how long it’ll be before i can cuddle my little one and carry him. And i think i’ve got all i need but haven’t a clue what to pack apart from dressing gown and slippers!
And to top it off youngest has developed a temp of 38deg! Just given him nurofen kids, hope he’s not gonna be ill!
omg poor you!! cant really give you any advice but husbands need to be good for one thing so let him take the stress of the kids and just rest as much as you can when you get home. I dont have mine until march but am already worrying about dealing with the kids when i get home (my husband is having the week off with me). Take a magazine to read is advice i got of a friend.. go luck for tomorrow, i will add you as a friend and wait for your post op post!!!
Good luck for tomorrow my love! Don’t worry about the hospital aspect, was there on Friday and everyone is sooo lovely! Your husband will be fine, i honestly thought my boyfriend would be useless with looking after me but men can surprise us
just remember all the reasons you’re doing this and you will be grand…definitely worth it! Good luck again x x x
Hi Sam,
I’m just over two weeks post-op now after having ba and uplift. I was very restricted for a few days after op, and it’s really not advisable to lift anything for the first two weeks and I’m told it can take up to a further 4 weeks to fully recover after uplift. I had my staples taken out after the first week and was told I could start showering. On my second week my nurse said I’d healed well and I didn’t need to wear dressings anymore, but I still wear steri strips and change them every day until I know I’ve fully healed as I’m a bit paranoid about infection.
Everyone heals differently and you must be extra careful after having uplift, don’t lift anything heavy or put any strain on yourself as it can cause bleeding. Uplifts are complex operations and you will need plenty of rest to allow incisions to heal especially during the first week.
I wasn’t in any pain, I just felt achey and heavy, but it does get better.
Good luck xxx
hi sam, good luck for your op tom hun…I am sure your hubby will cope..kids will be fine…the time will go quick for you…you need to concentrate of getting yourself up and well…so let hubby sort the kids and the housework…it will all work out ok…and you will soon be able to cuddle the kids…x
I forgot to say i’m having 380cc mod/low partial unders.
I’m sure all will be well with hubby and kids. I’m more worried about after 2wks when hubby goes back to work and i have to be able to get 16mth old upstairs and lift him into cot for his nap and bedtime. x
