Hi ladies, so I just had my 6 wpo appointment last week and asked the nurse if I’m now ok to sunbathe providing my scars are covered up and she said I must be covered (I.e. in a bikini top and with a towel/t-shirt over) if I’m laying in the sun so they don’t burn. She said I need to continue this until my surgeon’s appt at 12wpo. I travel a lot for work and spend a lot of time in the sun so just wondering if anyone else had similar advice? Also I asked about rollercoasters as I was hoping to do Disneyland this year but she said I will not be able to go on them ever again and Mya won’t cover me if anything happens as a result of going on one.

Just wondering if anyone else has been told this also? X

Hi. I didnt go with Mya, have to admit the roller coaster thing sounds bizarre. People go sky diving with implants! I am now 9 weeks post opp and I went to Egypt at just under 6 weeks post opp for 10 days. It was very hot there and safe to say I have a lovely tan. I checked with my surgeon prior to holidayand he said being in the sun was fine but to keep the scars covered up as being out in the sun could cause them to darken etc. So.he assured me.tbat wearing a bikini was absolutely fine. I am 6 months post op, and went to Disneyland last month, I didn’t even think about my boobs until I got on the first roller coaster, but they were fine!x

I go to turkey in June I’ll be 10 weeks post op and before I booked my op I made sure everything would be ok and my pc said as long as I have sun cream on and keep my scars covered there wouldn’t be a problem.x
