SUNBED pre op

I did a recent post about sunbeds and cant bloody find it, sorry for posting iot again,….

but anyway, my nurse tolkd me no sunbeds for a week before the OP.

i have a sunbed almost every day normally so its going to be reaslly hard for me, weas planning tohave lots of sunbeds before my op as no faketan allowed..

is it going to be a problem, i cant think of a reason why having sunbeds before OP could be a problem? anyone klnow why she said no sunbeds?? xx

well i wasnt told this emilyjane and went on twice last week as my op was yesterday for same reason really, just to get abit of colour to my face and body so i dont look ill!! If you go on all the time, you should have a lovely colour anyway but if you really cant stand not going on, why dont you just go on once a few days before? (Just my opinion, obviously not a nurse!) Just make sure you have a good shower morning of your op

Hi, yeah I was told the same thing and also was told no sunbeds for a year afterwards – I was horrified! My PC said most girls just cover up the scars and do go on after their op once things have settled down.

I was told that the sunbed made your skin a bit tighter because you lose some of the moisture, like going in the sun. Perhaps it just makes your skin a bit more difficult to work with on the day, as the stretchier it is the less chance of stretch marks? Just a complete guess with that though. Keep bio-oil-ing them up or moisturising and I reckon they wouldn’t know x

I am using Bio Oil still, but just cant stand not going on the sunbeds, especially not using fake tan?

I think im going to carry on using the sunbeds but just make sure i dont burn il keep my skin really moisterised.

Is everyone using something pre-op, I.e. Bio oil, stretch Mark cream? I wasnt told to and my op is just over 4 weeks away. I was told no sun beds for three months all I can say is it’s going to be a White Christmas (hate fake tan, prefer sun beds!) x

well i had seen lots of girls were writing about BIO OIL and i thought i better get some, im only using it once a day if i remmeber, so i should be using it more, but apprently it really helps, 4 weeks away you’ll be ok, my OPS next week and im not using it much as i should..

im still on the sunbeds thow! xx
