Sunbeds.

I know I shouldn’t use them for a while after, but can I use them up until the day of my op?

Also I’m off on holiday 12 weeks post-op, I assume I’ll be okay sunbathing then?

I dont know about before but i was told that after i should use factor 50 on scar for at least 12mths and keep it covered up with a bikini top. x

Im going away 14 weeks after my op and I was also told to keep my scars covered in the sun. Im sure the same will apply for sunbeds- just keep your scar covered as they will go very red in the sun and prolong the scar healing. Again, Im not sure about beforehand but I did hear that you can’t use spray tan or have acrilyc nails… Also no makeup or piercings in for op. Gosh, Im gonna look like a walking corpse then! x

I won’t be sunbathing topless so scars should be okay. Might put a high factor on them just incase though.

You can use the sunbeds before but make sure your carefull not to burn your skin!! I had my op done last thursday and stopped goin on the sunbeds just 2 days before. Just wanted a bit of colour as you cant go on after for ages.

no probs For me i needed to go on i was starting a new job n wanted to look my best lol. So had my induction just before my op n due to start my new job on the 20th just hope im fit enough to turn in. Fingers crossed x

Does anyone know if it’s ok to go on sun beds after 6 weeks if we keep the scars covered and use sun cream?

Dwni id say its risky goin on sunbeds 6 weeks after but if you do just keep your scars well covered perhaps wear a kini top

I don’t think it’s just about the scars, is it? It’s to do with the skin being stretched I think – I’d definitely check as even with scars covered up it might not be ‘safe’?? :)xx

Why no piercings? Can we not cover them with a plaster? My belly will close up xx

How long you had it pierced, you’d literally only have it out for 4 hours max.. it’s so that there’s no danger of them going in open wounds (I think) xx

Had it done for 12 years, when I take it out for an hour the hole starts to get smaller. I guess it doesn’t matter, rather have boobs than a belly piercing haha xx
