Post op you shouldn’t expose your scars to natural sunlight or uv sun bed light for at least a year. Pre op I’m not sure xx

Spray tans ahoy for atleast a year i would say. Your scars could go either bright red or a really dark brown colour if you expose them to UV light

Plus i used to work in a tanning salon and we used to say atleast a year

That would be at your own risk, me personally i would just stay off them. I think the rays would still go through and you dont want red or brown scars do you. Could you not just false tan for a while? I can recommend you some good false tans :)

its a week before surgery as you are damaging your skin (unless you cover your boobs, and really cover them), until the all clear from the nurse (either a week or more) for fake tan, but not on or near your incisions, your six week check (or more as mine is) for anything on the scars themselves (sheets, plasters, sun lotion, fake tan, oils, etc), a full year for full exposure in sun or uv on your boobs and incisions, as either can cause the scar to become red and raised, and because your skin has been stretched, can also make you tan very blotchy.

sun lotion alone, even factor 50, will NOT help on a sunbed, as they havent been made for the strength of the UV tubes, if you are going to use them, keep a bra on, dermatix sheets (or similar), and a towel over you boobs (make sure the towel is folded over as much as possible and covers ALL your boobs and any area that is stretched), but wait until you six week clear from your surgeon xx

No probs hun, glad to have. I’m 7.5 weeks and on sun beds twice a week ATM as I’m off on holiday in under three weeks, but I really cover my incisions and boobs, I haven’t had the all clear off my surgeon yet, and won’t be until I get back ( thanks to messed up appointments and wasted time, energy and money) at the earliest, but I waited until six weeks then followed the advice from my saloon and online xx

yea i was told to stop using them a week before my op too :) xx
