Surgery during a period?

Does anybody know whether you are allowed to wear sanitary towels/tampons during surgery?? Its a strange question but i wasnt sure because I know everything has to sterile.xxx

I asked the same question last week as Aunt Flo comes to town the day before my op apparantly we have to wear sanitary towels and you get elastic knickers instead of the paper ones xx

oh right thanks hun……wasnt sure whether u had to be completely starkers under the hospital gown!! xxx
