How far PO are we allowed to start swimming? Is it the same as other exercise (6 weeks on all clear) or is it longer because of water/clourine xx

I think it’s 6 weeks or longer. Its just until your incisions are healed, I’m almost 9 weeks post op tho & I still have holes in my incisions. It’s just for infections, think of all the germs in swimming pool off all the people eww xxx

Six weeks, or until you have had the all clear from a surgeon. This is because yours incisions are still new, and can get infected xx

It will do hun don’t worry. The best thing you can do is get fit and strong before your op, then your body will be better equipped to handle surgery and will recover quicker x

Its a nightmare isnt it, i know all MYA surgeons r brill but would be nice to c mario because he knows why he done it how he done it etc etc, if that makes sense lol! I hope whoever u see gives u the answers/outcome u want hun xx

It’s not really MYA’s fault, as they are only following guidelines on what the GMC have set, and until they make a decision, then Mario can’t do anything.

I know what you mean, at my six (eleven really) week check, he looked said ‘perfect’ and shoo’d me out the room, but now they still haven’t moved and still hurt :( someone will help I’m sure, it’s just who is a big question now. It’s hard enough choosing a surgeon, never mind having that choice taken away :( xx

I swam at 10 weeks post op. No problems. x
