swimming after op

hello, im just over 4 weeks post op. got my 6 week check up on 9th feb was just wondering if i’d be able to go swimming after 6 weeks or if i could go now? x

id wait and see what they say at your six week check, as before that you arent supposed to even have long soaks and perfumed soaps etc…. so id assume chlorine will be bad xx

yeh thats what i was thinking ive just put on weight since my op and wanted to tone up and was gonna book a holiday but dont really want to book it as im always in the pool on holiday! x

Hi girls!

I’m supposed to be going on holiday 4 weeks PO. What would happen if I went into a swimming pool at that point? Would there be a greater risk of infection? I really don’t know how to get around not swimming/sitting in a jacuzzi on holiday!

i think as its before the 6 weeks you shouldnt. especially as abroad will use different strength of chemicals, and the fact you arent supposed to soak the scars yet. also remember not to let the sun get to the scars for six months (12 months for sunbeds), even with something daft like factor 50, its not recommended xx

I wouldn’t go in a jacuzzi. Think of the germs! U can’t go in one when u r pregnant because of the risk of infection …. x
