I am 3 weeks away to my op! :) I am getting so excitted!! The only problem is.. I am going on holiday to Lanzorotte on 24th October – So exactly a month after the op! I know I can fly short haul after 2 weeks after surgery. But what about swimming and tanning? I am so a fan of Sunbeds and the ones in Colchester are use pink bubls and are extremely hot!! When can I start using them again? and will I be able to sunbathe and swim on my holiday?

    love you girlys!! x

I would’nt chance swimming honey in case you pick an infection up from the water, and as for the sunbeds check with your nurse or surgeon,I think it will be far too soon for you to use them, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s just my opinion, you are paying a lot of money for your new assets you need to look after them honey, xxx

i was told to keep away from the sun etc for as long as possible apparently because your skin is so taught you can get uneven pigmentation that doesn’t go away, so i’d avoid it, also was told to not swim for at least six weeks cos as tina says the risk of infection from the pool is quite high, sorry hun xxx

i was told to keep the scars dry and out of the sun. plus you should wear the sports bra 24hrs a day for 6 weeks. i ended up postponing my holiday :-(

defo don’t go swimming! I know somebody who went swimming at 5 weeks post op before the 6 week check with her surgeon and she ended up getting a massive infection and was back in hospital the next day. It’s not worth the risk x
