Just had call from reception at manchester sayin my pre op bloods back and i need to go back to see nurse cos somat not right, which im susectin is prob my iron. But they didnt kno so said nurse will call back, but not heard yet and i kno how busy the nurse is. Just worried it could postpone my op, anyone else had op postponed due to low iron?xx

Hey hun, do they always take your bloods at pre-op? I have mine on Friday and was worrying in case I’m the same and have low iron. Will you pls let me know if you hear anything back? xx

If you tick on your medical info that you have had any problems blood related then you have to have blood taken. Initially I didn’t tick that I had, then i realised a few days later and had to go back in and have them taken. It turns out that I had a low platelet count and my surgery is postponed until they find out what the problem is. It’s so worth mentioning though, if you do think there may be anything worth investigating. It would be awful to have complications or worse in surgery xx

Hi, i had bloods cos havin uplift too so they do it as its a bigger op. So dont worry holly unless you are having uplift to. They dont do it for straight forward augs. But your right bethy, its defo worth mentioning, ive had low iron in the past so i mentioned this to the nurse at the pre op and its must be that now (i think) nothin worse i hope! That must be annoying for you having to wait, hope your all sorted asap. Thanks joanna, hoping it doesnt have to postpone things, still not had call from nurse but hes on till 8 by all accounts so hoping ile hear before then xx
