Take holiday or sick leave?? Plz help

Hi I’m worried about ending up taking loads if holiday has any lady’s taken sick leave for it? my boss has just brought in a HR company. Do girls know my rights with this? Any help very grateful

I think because it’s cosmetic aka voluntary that you aren’t able to take it as sick leave?

But don’t take my word for it, I may be wrong

I didn’t even try for sick leave cz my company probz wouldn’t let me as it’s voluntary. So I’ve taken hols. It might also depend on your company too xx

I’ve had to take a week unpaid….. I needed to save my holidays for my wedding and honeymoon xx

i was gunna take 10 days off work so have like 2 weeks off, but dont have that many holidays left n wanna save some so gunna take 8 working days off instead and see how i feel, not too bad tho cause it will work out that il only go back for the thurs n fri n then its weekend again x

Yeh was thinking 8 Working days but I’m hair dresser n using arms alot dunno if boss will let me take unpaid x

Well … yes you can take it as sick leave. Mr Traynor wrote me a letter and i also got a sicknote from my GP as unfit for work.

Whether or not the compoany pay you full sick pay or SSP in down to their discretion.

But yes if u have a sicknote then you are covered. xxx

Just because it is elective surgery does not matter….. if you have a sicknote and u r unfor for work then the company CANNOT question wot surgery you had.

I do bathroom and kitchen design, so I’m pretty much sat around, it’s not a physical job! Lol.

My op is on a Friday so I’ve taken the 12th August to 19th August… which means I get both weekends off as well so not too bad!!
