Taking the pill during BA

I know some doctors tell you to stop taking your pill 2 week before your BA due to the risk of blood clots. The pill im on is Dianette which i think is pure oestrogen and has a high risk for blod clots and DVT.

What pill are you allowed to continue to take during your BA? Im thinking about changing my pill to one that you’re allowed to stay on just for the next few months so i dont have to worry about coming on while im healing from my BA.

What about getting a depo injection? That lasts for 12wks i think. x

I’m on microgynon which they said was fine to stay on. I had my op on the wednesday & was due to start my 7 day break on the thursday- the nurse suggested I just roll two packs together & not have a break so it would be more comfortable for me which is what i did. Hope this helps xx

im on microgynon 30 too and i got told you have to come off it… hmm will have to check last thing i wana do is come off it but then again dont want to risk a blood clot

Im on microgynon, im on my 3rd consecutive pack coz I rolled on a 2nd pack bcoz I had exams when my break was supposed to be and now my BA’s been brought forward iv had to take a 3rd pack without a break. Isnt bad though coz Iv only done this once b4 for a holiday

I’m on depo and was ok to stay on it. But at my pre-op the nurse said it was down to which surgeon you have and their preference. Apparently Mr T doesn’t make you come off the pill but some others do. Xxx

I continued taking mine (yasmin) and had no problems x
