Just wondering how you all approached the subject with your boss etc at work.. like did you tell them what you were having done etc..
I got the week after booked off and the other day my manager asked oh what have you got planned that week so I just said I was having the time off for my birthday.
I know I’ve got to tell them because of when I come back after there may be things I can’t do or may need odd days off for appointments etc.. but I don’t want to tell my boss cause I think he’ll be a bit funny.. My line manager is a woman so I feel like I could tell her but I’m just a bit nervous of telling them! lol
How did you all do it ?
My line manager only knows im having an op but not what for. shes letting me have all next week off as sick so i dont have to use my hol. she didnt ask what it was for so i didnt say xx
I said I have to have an operation then they were so concerned that eventually i just told them because i needed off work etc…. was a awkward conversation with bizarre looks on their faces of my bosses…
Im worried about the exact same thing hun. Ive told my supervisor in work bcoz I had to book the time off, that was ok tho bcoz shes a woman so probs understands. My boss however is a middle aged man and I dont think he will know what to say. Plus Im unsure of whether to tell everyone else I work with bcoz Ill come back from my week off with huge boobs lol. they r bound to notice haha. Its so awkward tho. xx
Ha yeah.. I’m quite lucky with the fact I work with an office of mainly women and one of the girls in my work has had hers done so been asking her few questions etc.. but she didn’t have the same dilemma as me as she’d had hers done before she started working here..
But like you said Tj my boss is a middle aged man and I just have a feeling he’ll sigh and roll his eyes as usual..
I’m thinking to just go along the route of telling my line manager n letting her do the rest with my boss! haha xx
my “big boss” wont know, my line manager told me just to ring in sick on monday following on from an op on thurs xx
i just came out and said “guess what im having my tits done” lol i got a good relationship with my managers and team leaders though plus thats the type of person i am, quite loud and out spoken lol xx
im the same as nikki, everyone asks questions all the time, and are counting down the days for me lol xx
I only told the woman in my company exactly what i was having done, but when i came back from my “easter break” i did get comments from the men saying how it looks like my head has shrunk!! i think in the end they just guessed but i never actually told anyone … i overheard my male boss saying how he knows i had a boob job because one day i come in all normal and the next time he sees me i have these huge melons!! I think you should only tell the people you are confortable with telling! anyone else can just find out xxx
Because I had a fibroadenoma removed last November I told my supervisor that this had left my breast’s looking different (it hasn’t) which is embarrassing and therefore I am having surgery. Worked out quite well as he’s putting it down as sick and ignoring any trigger points that I may get. I thought I may as well tell him as it’s going to be noticeable lol x
