    Hi all

I have been unlucky enough to have been hit with every side effect going all at once on day 9. Can someone reassure me these are normal?

First and worst – when I go out after about 5 mind of walking the pain in my left boob becomes unbearable, it feels like sharp stabbing pains on both sides and the pressure feels so built up in there that I have to put my arm against it and support it, this makes it easier to walk but is then so sensitive that having my arm there causes more pain just of a different kind. I noticed it yesterday when I went for my check and went out today where it got worse. It takes my breath away and I can’t even walk at a normal pace for fear of making the pain worse

To add to this, I have now started to notice bloating and swelling, but don’t know why, am off pain killers, eating fine and don’t have any toilet issues! I have noises coming out one side (I know this is normal for 9 days), the larger bras I bought yesterday are too tight today, my macom is way too tight, and I feel like crying. I know most of these symptoms are normal but I am 9 days post op now, and I thought I’d be through all this by now. Am most worried the pain won’t go, the nurse and surgeon didn’t seem concerned as there’s nothing causing it, but they also couldn’t say why I had it or when it will go. And to add to all this have been getting pain in my leg since op so the surgical stockings are having to go back on tonight. Help!!!!

Thanks girls, sounds like its all pretty normal and I shouldn’t stress. Glad to hear the pain isbhoing jellybean. Joanne – that pain in foot was exactly what I had as well, so strange! Wore my lovely stockings last night and for the first time I didn’t get them! looks like we will all have to put up with the bloating a bit longer than we thought, and there I was thinking the first week would be the worst! Hope you’re all feeling better soon x

    Hi Hun

Sorry I haven’t replied to your pm yet I’ve not been on here in ages. Well yesterday I went from having sailed through everything with no pain etc to feeling like I was at deaths door. Since the strapping has come off all of the bruising down my left side feels like it’s come out but it doesn’t look bruised, all my ribs down my left side feel bruised and I can’t stand up straight or walk. Ended up taking the pain relief the hospital gave me last night even though I originally stopped taking it after 2 days. Ive woken up a bit better this morning but saying that I’m still lying in bed and haven’t tried to move yet. I’m meant to be going shooting today with my partner but not sure I can cope with the walking.

I think ive read before the 2nd week is the worst I hope it gets better for you xxx

I experienced some shooting pains in my breasts too and still do at times. I’m 14 weeks today! But I wd never say it was unbearable pain as you describe having to hold it etc. I think you should definitely inform your nurse:( it might just be every thing knitting back together but it’s best to be sure. I found day 9 difficult too everything seemed more painful and the bloating was still there for sure! I didn’t start to feel normal til week3/4 but I had uplift too. I can’t remember if you had just implants? Anyway it will all settle soon. Sleep deprivation could be a large factor are you sleeping ok? I find lack of sleep affects everything even my view on things!!!!!! Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks anchovie, just implants for me. Last night was first proper nights sleep, I had those shooting pains too but they seem to have died down a bit now. This is only when I go out and nurse said it ‘should’ go but don’t know when! I will have to call them if it carries on, my painkillers make me v tired so can’t take them in the day. I don’t want to avoid going out as its not really an option. Sitting down is the only thing that stops it! Can’t believe you’re 14 weeks already!!!

I had a good cry this morning, that made me feel a bit better! I have avoided the shopping trip this mornning tho as I don’t want to be knocked about in Asda, the pain seems to only come on when I go out walking, will try a little wander about later cos I don’t want to end up scared to go out. Will see how that goes. It’s prob just my body’s reaction and all perfectly normal, just starting to ddtress me out, especially as I have to get back to training on Tuesday. aargh!!! have you had a good sleep and caught up? x

I’m sure you’ll feel better about going out later, I’m stuck with x factor and strictly my mum insists on watching! Tuesday I’m back to class for last lesson before exam, but it takes an hour on public transport so not looming forward to that one, I’ll have the rest of the week with nothing on tho so that’s something! Where you off too tonight?!
