    Hey girls

Thought I would share my story as reading other lasses stories has really helped me feel at ease.

I booked my BA in March and I decided not to think about being put to sleep or the op; all I was thinking about was the outcome, my lurvly new boobs!! You know what this really worked for me; I just put the whole op thing in a box and didn’t worry at all.

I decided to go for a day case as I was told I would save another £400 (however that’s another story!). Even when I was driving down yesterday morning, I wasn’t nervous at all, just exited.

I was due to check in at Manchester Lifestyle Hospital 7.30am but didn’t arrive til 8am (it was ok though). I filled out some forms then was taken upstairs to a room with 4 beds but there was only one other girl in the room. I chose what food I wanted and had a chat with the nurse although I still didn’t have any concerns or questions.

I’m 5ft 11, was 36c and decided to go for 460’s. I was unsure for the last few months whether to go for 410’s or 460’s however after reading all the posts, most girls have confirmed they were pleased they went for the biggest option given.

I was called down at 10.05am, still feeling ok. The anesthetist was chatting to me asking if I’d been put to sleep before, I said that I hadn’t. He then asked me what my favourite drink was as I’d feel like I was drunk before I go to sleep. I kept my eyes open until I drifted off. I didn’t know anything else until the nurse woke me up. I felt soooooo relaxed, the electric blanket was on, I was sooooo cosy, I didn’t want to open my eyes. She told me to keep my eyes closed while she rolled my bed back into my room incase I felt dizzy.

I got back to my room about 11.40am. My friend was there waiting for me. I felt great, no bother at all. I just lay there for a few hours. My friend was reading and I was dozing the whole time. I needed to go to the toilet so the nurse helped me up. As soon as I sat up I felt sick. I had to go though, well it knocked me for six!!!! I felt really dizzy and sick. The nurse gave me an injection then I eventualy pulled myself round. I was then discharged around 6pm with penicillin and co-codermol.

We went to the holiday inn which was 8 mile away, had some room service and just chilled out. I got a v pillow as I knew I had to sleep sitting up and I tell you what girls; it soooo did the job. I didn’t think I’d be able to sleep propped up but I managed it. Just hope I can sleep like that over the next week or so.

My boobs are very tender, swolen and sore at the minute. It’s bearable though. I can’t move much as it hurts. My mam is staying with me for the next couple of days to help me out; bless her! I’m pleased I went for 460’s as I think once the swelling has gone down they’ll be a nice size. I’ve got 36f bra on at the minute. I got a size bigger just to be on the safe side as I knew they’d be swolen.

I would say the whole experience (apart from the issue I’m having with the price quoted) has been fantastic. You have nothing to worry about. I would do it all again if I had to. Feel free to ask me any questions as I’m going to be tearing my hair out this week!!! ha!

I’ll get some pictures on once the swelling goes down. xx

Hi Claire, I’m booked in tomorrow at Manchester with Dr Traynor-excited but slightly anxious now! I’m only having little ones compared to you but still feeling a bit eek-ish haha I really appreciated you posting your story and hope we can keep in touch! I’ll post after my op all being well xx

HI Clare, I had my breast enlargement at MAnchester Lifestyle Yesterday too with MR Traynor. I opted to stay the night as I was very worried. I was 34 a and had 410 unders. I cant move today and also feel sick when i stand up. I must say the nurses at the hospital were excellent.

My admission time was 11am and went down at 4pm, waiting that time was very nerve wracking but there was nothing to be worried about.

The pain isnt as bad as i had imagined just very unconfortable.

    Good luck with your recovery

    :)

    Hey aggie

Ah an hour is not too bad although I don’t think I could have drove that far back last night. That’s good of your friend. Mine was a little diamond; couldn’t have done it without her :) The twins are doing good. They are very swollen and sore but the shape is fab. Once the swelling goes down they’ll be lush!! When are you booked in for then? What size are you going? xx

    Menu

    Hey wifey

Ah, mate, don’t be worrying, it is no bother at all. Try to enjoy the experience. I would def do it all again! Are you staying in over night? Who’s going down with you? What size are you going for? Million questions!!! ha! Yeah; def keep in touch..let me know how you get on won’t you? xx

    Hey Leanne

Ah you must have been in one of the other rooms. Yeah, they were excellent. Really caring, I couldn’t thank them enough. Oh, sorry to hear your feeling sick. It’s an awful feeling. That was the worst bit for me yesterday, feeling sick! Yeah, I’m the same as you, struggling to move, it does hurt a bit so I’m just taking advantage of lying on the settee!! ha! Happy recovery to you too. Keep me posted on how you get on this week. xx

Hiya…I’m going home afterwards(I hope!) My husband is taking and collecting me which I am glad about-he’s the only one who knows i’m having the op! Currently I’m a 34 A and having 260 under…doesn’t sound like much in comparison to everyone else but when I’ve done the rice test (LMAO) it’s plenty big enough for me. Can’t believe that this time tomorrow I’ll be all done…so looking forward to being healed and seeing the end results!xx

    Menu

I will do, my boobs are soooo tight with being small before and quite high, Mr Traynor assures me that they drop as the swelling goes down over the next few weeks then a few months to settle properly. I hope so as I was thinking they wernt the rounded boobs i was expecting :) i think i was opposite your room yesterday.

Amy was my PC and has been really helpful.

Looking forward to the dressings off next Thursday.

Let me know how you get on

    Menu

    Hey wifey

Oh, your husband is the only person who knows, you’ve managed to keep it buttoned well there then!! ha! ah 260 will be a nice size if your small right now :) Best of luck for tomorrow mate; not that you’ll need it! Let me know how you get on ;) xx

    Menu

    Hey Leanne

Yeah, I think today will be the worst day then after that every day will get better. They’ll change shape every day too until they settle.

I can’t wait to go under wear shopping once they’re sorted :)

    Keep in touch matey. xx

    Hi Claire2010

    Congratulations on the twins!! lol

I wish you a speedy recovery!! bless you :)

I see you mentioned that you shared a room; I was advised this week by my PC that all rooms (whether day or night case) were private just for you?

    xx

    Menu

    Hey Aggie

Yeah, 410’s are not far off 460’s. I just can’t wait for the swelling to go down. I’m feeling a bit impatient! ha! I’m in Sunderland so it took about 2 1/2 hours to get down, it was coming back that was a pain as my friend has a mini and I could feel every bump :(

Let me know how you get on :) xx

hi claire, i was just wandering if you thought the painkillers they gave you were strong enough? do you think theres any need in doing an overnight stay or was it ok just doing day case? thanks x

good luck for 2morro Abby …Im in Manchester in 2 weeks . Who have u got? Ive got Mr Traynor

    Menu

    Hey Cherrycheeks

Thanks for that. Yeah; I was told the same by my PC but I was in a large room with another girl. It wasn’t a problem but I guess we should be given the correct information and some people will want a bit of privacy. It was actually good chatting after we both had our BA to compare how we were feeling etc!!

When are you booked in then? What size are you going? xx

    Menu

    Hey Leanne

I honestly believe day case is fine. The pain is bearable. You only get penicillan and paracetamol to take away with you. I haven’t bothered taking any paracetamol today as I’m ok just a bit achy.

How far do you live from the hospital? xx

    Menu

    Hi Lisd

Ah mate, there’s not much pain at all so don’t be worrying about that. Eeeeh not long for you now; it will fly over. What size are you now then? I’m soooo pleased I went for the biggest size :) I’m feeling ticketyboo today! I’ve had a few mates round to see me, I even got up and put my make up on this morning. I slept fine too propped up. That’s the bit I was worried about; missing out on my sleep but I’ve had 2 good nights sleep (touch wood!!) so all good. I just hate being stuck in the house. grrrrr!! xx

    Menu

    Hey Abby

Ah thanks for that, pleased my story helped you :)

Best of luck for today; you’ll be great!

    Hi Claire,

I know what you mean about being stuck in the house! I’m going to hate that bit!

    I’m a 34a now & want to get to at least a D.

I’ve only got two weeks left in work then i’m on hol for a week before my op so it really will fly around!

I haven’t told ANY of my friends yet, still not sure whether to or not… Not really sure why either, just don’t want ppl gossiping! I also think it would be good for them to just see me & see there reactions, LMAO!

Not to sure whether i will need support though considering some reactions to the med’s…

Glad your doing well, doesn’t sound like you have any regrets! XX

    Menu

    Hey Lisd

Eeeeh you’ve done well then if you’ve managed to keep that a secret. I’ve told quite a few people now. I’m not really bothered who knows! ha! I’ve got all my mates thinking about getting BA now. One of them has 3 kids though and she doesn’t think she can justify getting her boobs done instead of a holiday!! ha!

Yeah it will be good to see what their reaction is when you have big boobs! ha! Will you have anyone at home with you then? Who’s taking you to hospital?

Def no regrets mate; sooooo pleased I got them done. My friend just left there and she got hers done a few years ago, she thinks they look fab! ;) xx

    Hi Claire,

The only reason its still a secret is because i haven’t seen anyone since i booked it (it was only last week!). I think it will probably end up slipping out if i did see them, i can’t contain my excitement, lol!

My mate had hers done a couple of years ago & i’m seeing her tonight so i will probably end up telling her but once she knows everyone will know!

I would rather get my boobs done than go on holiday (which is why i won’t be going abroad this year!) but I would think that would be a difficult choice if i had kids!

My boyf will be taking me to hospital & staying with me until Sat or Sun then he has got to go away with work again so it will just be me & the mad dog then! I was hoping he would get more time off but they want him back early. God knows how i am going to cope with the dog, he’s crazy! I love him to bits but he is hard work & won’t stay down (he’s only a pup but already weighs 5 1/2 stone! XX

    Menu

    Hey Kelz

    Thanks for that mate.

It will fly over. Just enjoy the experience. What size are you now then? 460’s are def the way to go!!!!! ha! xx

    Menu

    Hey Lisd

Ah you’ll def spill the beans tonight then if your friend has already had hers done. It really helps talking to someone who has already had BA.

You’ll be fine you know, I’ve got my mam here this afternoon but I’m doing good. Making my own tea and everything so don’t worry. You’ll have to be careful with the dog though!! ha! xx
