no probs at all you will be fine – just expect to feel useless for 3 days…e.g. i couldnt even reach for the remote control on the floor :((
but if you prepare yourself u will be fine…just make sure everything is close by for you…and look forward to day 4 onwards when i promise things get easier..

my biggest mistake was not preparing myself for how immobile and useless i was…then day 4 came and it was amazing :))

am 3 weeks post op tomorrow :) xx

:bigsmile:Hi, I had my op, and uplift, last friday evening. Stayed in swiss cottage the night before, so a stress free arrival day, and good restaurants. The day was long but as soon as all started felt totally relaxed with the professionals.
The journey home, just got on the road as soon as I could, journey of 130 miles, had a cheap soft pillow from asda, for the seat belt. Stopped at Heston services for a coffee and then again at leigh delemare about 100 miles. Absolutely no problems at all, and was wondering when it was all going to kick in….good news for me, it didn’t! The even better news is,it hasn’t yet either. I have followed all the instructions to the letter, and all appears ok. So don’t worry you will be fine. Just wish I hadn’t waited years to get it done! xx

I’m at highgate 14th may too and not sure whether to book at hotel or not at the mo! In as a day case and about 2.5-3 hours from home! Hubby says he’ll drive back but I’m just worried I wont feel up to the journey – although it’ll be good to get home in my own bed!! x

it took me 5 hours there 4 hrs back…

i had to get a lift to my city centre, megabus, 2 tubes and then walked from highgate tube station to highgate hospital by myself..

then the next day i got a taxi from the hospital to victoria coach station, where i met my dad, and had to wait 2 hours to get a megabus back to cardiff then i we had to walk to my dads car and drive home.

hi there – i had a journey from manchester to newcastle and it was fine – just take it easy.

its only the 30mph roads where its a bit uncomfy, once you on the motorway its fine – the worst part for me was the driver making me laugh cos it hurt so much!!

but they give you plenty of pain relief so you’ll prob fall asleep anyway….just be very careful when you get out of the car not to push the door or strain too much xx

my journey was home was nearly 4hrs…..just make sure you’ve hade some pain killers, and with any luck, you’ll still have some of the anaesthetic in your system and you’ll sleep most of the way

Hi hunny, I’m 4 days post op now and my journey home was fine. It took just over an hour to get home but i had no pain at all. I had my V pillow in car too so i was nice and comfy. I was still num when i was coming home so i was fine with the bumps in the road.
The only part which was uncomfortable was getting out of the car lol. I have read that some ppl found it uncomfy on their way home tho….? I’ve had almost no pain at all, just a little uncomfortable getting upin the mornin. not had pain killers since day 2. U should be fine. Every1’s different tho x x x
