Just take it easy.. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))) XX

Co-codamol is sh****, all it does makes you feel sick & dizzy. Take ibuprofen instead!

    Menu

I agree take ibuprofen, co-codamol tends to make you feel really icky! xx

I was told not to take Ibuprofen for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after hun

    Menu

I was told you can take ibuprofen as long as you don’t exceed 2 doses within the 24 hours… so basically every 12 hours or so… I was taking it for 2 weeks from the day one post opp & Im fine..

Thank you for all the messages it really makes me feel like things will get better…my whole stomach is swollen now any suggestions?

Bek I had partials babe I want to be honest I am in absolute agony and cant barely do anything for mysel the main reason I had to stay at my dad. I came home for the day as wanted my own familiar space but think I have to go back tonight as I really can’t sit up on my own.:/ I know everyone is different and my one friend even said she went to work on day 3 but I feel like I’m disabled:/

All worth it of course but a bit of a emotional rollercoaster like why did i put my body thru this:/

bek10, Im divorced & on my own with 2 small choldren (3&5y.o.) and there is absolute NO WAY I could’ve managed with them on my own after opp… I nad unders & felt exactly like Alison is feeling now, unable to move for at least 4-5 days & was in tears & agony. My mum had my kids for the first 6 days & I am greatefull she did, otherwise i can’t immagine what I would’ve done. Youj will need a lot of help at least in the 1st week.

Alison, I was exactly the same, thinking i wish i haven’t done it at all! But when pain is gone you will appreciate the result. Im sure you will feel better very soon! xx

Hi, thought i’d try and help as i had a bad accident 3 years ago and had to cancel my ba because wasnt allowed it done due to the injury but i’m rebooking next week yippee.

But back to the point i’ve took loads and loads of painkillers think i’ve tried most, i’m currently taking morphine and have been now for well over a year so i understand about pain.

Ibuprophen is a anti inflammatory so it could help chick, i sometimes take it not all the time, i use to though because its my joint and bones that are all damaged and tendons and it helps the inflammation, my doctor said and i checked with the chemist that you can take ibuprofen along with your painkillers, you don’t have to take one or the other. So maybe try that by all means ask the chemist but i was fine and i’ve done it a long time. co-cordimol contains codine which can make you feel sick and stuff anything with codine can but then again i’ve found all strong pain killers to do this, mind you if they try giving me co-codomol i’ll have to laugh cos that will be like giving me a smartie after the things i’ve had to take, but i’m thinking of ya cos i know what its like to be in pain. Only other thing i can suggest you try is the new anadin extra gel capsules that are over the counter they are pretty good, but if your in so much pain babes ring them or give your own gp a call and they could do you a prescription but i’d defo try ibuprofen.

Hope you feel better soon chick xx

Hi Allison it will get better just a few more days and you will perk up, I had complete unders and coundnt use the top half of my body didnt have the strength to pick things up or get up from laying down but in a week or two you will wake up one morning and be able to slightly turn on your side and somehow get up yourself and then its uphill from there. Then you will have a day when you realise you dont need painkillers. Just keep resting and yeah ibuprofen is much better a few days after the op, a good idea is maybe in a few days when your feeling stronger get a wash and blow dry at the hairdressers(always a perk me up) I have this all to come again on the 28th March again and I feel your pain. keep smiling hunni x x x
