Did everyone actually stop taking the pill before surgery? Quite a few people have said that the risk of getting pregnant outweighs the surgery risks so carried on taking it!! I’ve had a baby 5 months ago I don’t need anymore yet haha! Xx

I’m guessing maybe it’s got something to do with the hormones the pill gives your body Hun xx

Its to stop you from being at higher risk of getting blood clots which could lead other problems xxx

I’m not too sure I’ve only been told about the pill but they all say different that’s why I don’t want to stop taking it unless I absolutly have too!! You’d be better checking ☺️I’m Xx

I have the coil and they said its perfectly fine.
As kelsie says its to help prevent clotting which I wouldn’t want to risk

Hmmm my nurse told me you have to stop because it could make you react badly to anaesthetic ? But my friend was with me at ny pre-op and she had just had an operation the week before, taking the same pill as me, under anaesthetic, and she wasn’t told she had to stop taking IT – iwe questioned the nurse about this and she said its a very small unlikely thing to happen but they say to stop it to safeguard themselves (which is fair enough) .. They all seem to give different reasons as she didn’t mention blood clotting .. I’m going to stop taking mine to be on the safe side but it is annoying as like you said I inow loads of people who hve continued to take it and been fine .. I’m just not that brave to take that risk xx

Some operations your in and out and can be back to normal in a few days, but if your sitting around all day or in bed not moving as much as usual it can increase your risk, my mum had an op on her stomach and had to stay in bed for a few weeks and she had to stop contraception for the same reasons. That’s why they give you the socks at the hospital it’s to prevent deep vein thrombosis xxx
