I have a number of post op bras of different sizes but some are quite tight and others are comfortable. Should I be wearing the tighter ones or the comfy ones? I don’t want to not be fully supported but equally I don’t want to be over squeezed as I am still really swollen (I am 6days post op). I’m wearing my macom at night but during the day sometimes I feel like I can’t breathe in it and want to looser more comfortable ones (from Asda)……
I don’t have my week check until the 28th as Christmas falls right on my 7th day so I can’t ask the nurse for a few days yet and don’t want to do any damage before then!

Wearing something too tight can displace the implant. As long as the more comfortable bra offers you support then I’d recommend that.
My surgeon does not recommend Macoms because of the displacement issue and instead recommends Calvin Klein crop tops and similar. Xx

Thanks Imogen. I had Dr Fuimara – which I think you did too, but when she put my bra on post op she chose the macom over everything else so that’s confused me! I will stick with the looser more comfy one as I’m still so swollen and this feels less restrictive. Thanks x

Yes I had Linda. She may well have chosen the Macom as felt that out of all your options it was the best fit but not necessarily her preferred choice. In my pre op they told me Linda doesn’t like Macoms anymore but I’d already bought mine by then.
That’s probably the best option. Xx
