Little bit of a weird question but has anyone been on their period when having your BA op! Mines on Tuesday and I think I’ll be on for it. Just wondered if this would be an issue or if I would need to tell the hospital?

I was on for my op last week! Just make sure you take pads as you’re not allowed to wear tampons in theatre. The pad stays fine on the paper knickers they give you. They ask when your last period was when they ask you questions before you go down to theatre so they’ll know. Another thing to add is you’re not allowed to take painkillers prior to your surgery. Don’t know when the cut off is but I called the clinic as I had excruciating period pain the day before my op and I wasn’t allowed to even take paracetamol! But yeah you’ll be fine, maybe double check just in case?? Good luck with your op though lovely xx

Oh also, they warned me that the ‘stress’ of the operation on your body may cause your period to stop and come back again earlier than you’re next due. Mine personally carried on as normal and I’m only 1wpo so I can’t vouch if that’s a fact or not xx

I have a cup. I had my op yesterday and I didn’t tell them. I just kept it in. Worried about getting it out now because the next morning you are so tight and sore x

Some hospitals do let u wear ur own underwear under paper knickers, where a pad n ask the nurse on the day, it will be fine xx
