time off work?! HELP!

I’m close to my surgery date, and i’m just really worried about my time off work. i do a lot of lifting and stretching, and i haven’t told anyone at work i’m going in for surgery. I’m a proper wuss and don’t normally heal very well, so i am worried that my 12 days off wont be enough. (i only work 12hours). was wondering how long others took off. thanks x

I worked in a supermarket on the counters and warehouse back when I had my op. Originally I asked my surgeon for two weeks off, then when I showed him what kind of movements I did (also lots of lifting, using my arms etc) he just shook his head and said I needed at least 3 weeks. I still didn’t feel ready at 3 weeks so ended up going back at almost 5 weeks post op! I did have quote a painful recovery compared to a lot of girls I’ve spoken to though xx

what do you mean you asked your surgeon for two weeks off? what did you say to work? i think ill be the same take forever to heal! i’ve booked my time off as holiday, and now i’ve ran out so i cant book anymore 🙁 x

When I saw him I asked for a sick note to give to work and he asked if I wanted one week or two, so I asked for two, but then he asked what kind of movements I’d be doing and said I’d need 3 weeks. Don’t forget you can self certify sick leave for a week xx

Im 14 days post op today I had overs , I went back to work on Saturday officially but i was off Sunday and there Monday Tuesday on my own 🙁 I struggled simple things like mopping the floor. I have a very active Job I keep forgetting. I’ve had it done I’m not in much pain at all now I’m just hoping I haven’t over done it x

i got a sick note for two weeks off from mya 🙂 they were soooooooooooooooo helpful, i wish i had just called them first, instead of worring. i then have a weeks holidays so fingers crossed i should be ok 🙂 hayley you should be taking it easy! you have just had surgery after all! x

Does the sick note actually say what procedure you have had done ? Or have any logos with MYA on! Only reason I ask is that I wouldn’t want to had in a sick note with all the information on Xx

no logos and doesnt say their name, and it says elective surgery (non medical emergency surgery your chose to have) , it has to have their address on tho, so it could be worked out i guess. i havnt told my work anything x
