Hi girls! I’m so excited I am booked in for late December with Mr.Kazzazi, am going for 410 unders, medium-high profile.

Can anyone that’s had their op already tell me about recovery? How did you feel for the first few days after it? Were you able to walk around, act normally? How long did you take off work?

    So many questions!

I have decided only to tell my family and boyfriend, plus my one close friend, def not people at work so wondering about how ‘normal’ I’ll be able to act…I have to go back to work after about 10 days as I can only get 7 days off work at Christmas time…

Any info would be amazing, thank you!

hi jmuuray im 6 days post op now and gettin better everyday. The first 2 days r the worst it hurts quite a bit but one tip i will give u is relax ur shoulders coz i didnt and ended up in major pain until i rang the nurse and she told me to relax them and it helped loads. I was up walkin the next day but very slowly and u r very limited in arm movement. Im actually goin back to work tomo which im not too excited about at all but i have no choice. The op itself is fine and very easy u wake up with heavy feelin on ur chest and tight to breath but thats about it coz u dont feel too much pain uve had too many drugs lol. I had 460 overs and unders r spose to hurt more so u could end up in bed an extra day depends on how high ur pain threshold is? Aslong as u take painkillers though u will be fine we all r on here good luck xx

Thanks hun! I’m hoping I am ok for Christmas Day as I’ll be seeing a lot of family and not telling all of them but should have op about 6 days before xmas if all goes to plan! :)

I have had an operation before for something medical and it made me very weak and wobbly for a few days so I’m sure that will happen again, but hoping the pain will be bearable. That’s a good point about the shoulders thanks! xx

    Hey hun,

Im 10 weeks post op, recovery is best to be patient! I only had a week off work and reall regretted it… def take at least 2 weeks off id say. The first couple days you feel uncomfy and find it difficult to get off the bed etc… we use a name on here called “the bum shuffle!” where you shuffle your bum to move instead of putting weight on your shoulders and arms :-). The first week sleeping is the worst but it gets much better if you gradually lower yourself so its nothing to drastic..

    Good luck!! :-) xxx

thanks hun. Unfortunately I’m already pushing it asking for 7 days off around christmas as it’s a busy time for our office, but would have a week then monday and tuesday back to work weds…I have a fairly desk-oriented job so hoping il be ok. I will have to get good at the ‘bum shuffle’!

Hope everything is great with your new twins! x

Hi Hunny, i would defo take two weeks off at one week i was still in loads of pain and i had overs which are meant to be easier, as long as you take the pain killers they give you you will be fine! i was allergic ro co-codamol so i was being sick so just had paracetamols! it wasnt really the pain that took it out of me it was the surgery itself so just be careful you dont push yourself too far! x

starting to worry I’m not gonna be able to cope back at work after 10 days! I guess if the worst comes to the worst I could call in sick for a day or two at the end, even though no one will believe me haha xx

    hi Jmurray

It all depends on what job you do. At first i was told 2 weeks by my surgeon and then when he found out what job i do he advised 4 weeks, and im glad i went with the 4 weeks as i found even after 2 weeks i was still getting a few twinges if i moved a certain way.

Just becareful that you dont over do it xx

hi sharon76, if you dont mind me asking what is it that you do to be advised that amount of time to have off as im having 2weeks off after and im a hairdresser thanks x

I am 8 days post op and there is noway I could go back to work yet. I’m not in any real pain but I am really weak and not up to much at all. I think a lot of people under estimate how traumatic a BA is to the body and you need time to recover x

jmurray: Ah yeah thats a good point!! As long as you feel ok to go back to work but do take it easy… i work ina medical centre so i was running around alot even tho i told off doing it haha. Bum shuffle is defo a thing to master.. so much easier and does wonders for your bum too! xx

Kirsty: Yeah my boobs have def dropped abit, they should drop a little bit more though and are getting softer by the week. So much softer then the first couple weeks haha. The bum shuffle is great… helped so much even if you are laughing alot while your doing it! xx

    Hi jmurray,

I’m going back into work on the 8th day after op. Like you, my job is mainly desk based & i don’t have the option of taking more time off! My ba is on 24th Aug so i will let you know how i get on, i will be going back to work on 1st Sep.

Hopefully i will be ok, but if not i’m toying with having sick leaving & saying i have a chest infection, lol! XX

    Hey JMurray

When are you booked in for? I am booking this week for 22nd Dec… as I too struggle for time off work! And that way it gives me nearly 2 weeks recovery time! :)

Where are you getting it done and who is your surgeon? x

Hey cherrycheeks, I’m booked for Dec 18th in London with Mr.Kazzazi hopefully! Am so worried the date might get changed, am cutting it a bit fine with work lol they’re such meanies!

Christmas Day will be 7 days after op so hoping i’ll be able to socialise with family and friends! Possibly going back to work around 28th Dec but thinking about taking off another 3 days after hearing about the girls’ recoveries on here. It’s best to be careful i guess, and if you don’t ask you don’t get so will have to be cheeky with work!

Where are you having yours, which surgeon? xxx

lol boobs or babies. I suppose if you are planning on having babies might be best to wait for BA because your boobs will change with breastfeeding etc.

I’m hoping not to have babies for at least 5 years but who knows!

In a way because the op is so far away it makes me think about things a lot and i started to get cold feet but now I’m so sure again xxx
