Hey.. I am booked in for my first consultation on Saturday for vaser lipo and was wondering if there are any questions I should be asking?

When I had the consultation for my ba I had a mind blank and thought of loads of questions once I had left!

    Appreciate any tips xx

Ask for what realistically you can expect from your results. I think some people have unrealistic expectations and this should be addressed right away.

Ask about recovery.. I wasn’t made clear on the recovery garment process and more info would have been useful. For example going back to work with a garment on etc – it’s HUGE if u have foam vest too depending what areas you get done.

Ask how to maintain the results maybe forever? Ie whether fat comes back or not and how to make sure it doesn’t?

What do you want to know?

I didn’t ask much atall as was having BA too so so consumed with getting that right vaser was a bit of an add on thought lol x

@emmad84 I had my appointment yesterday as i had to cancel saturday and met my pc who was so lovely, she pretty much answered all my questions before i had even asked them!

She said i could potentially have vase done in about 2 weeks which would be 2 weeks before i go on holiday (its with family to our house which is quite out the way – so it wouldn’t matter about wearing the garment) She seems to think it would be ok and i could take the garment off for small periods of time throughout the day.

When you wear the garment are you able to bend at all? Im interested in having upper and lower abdomen and inner thighs so id be pretty wrapped up I’m assuming?

My main concern is that i am seeing my surgeon on 16th sept to discuss is there is anything wrong with my BA as i don’t think they feel right.. Obviously is he was to re-do my BA id much prefer to get the vase done at the same time to bring the cost down but if he says no then i would have missed the late space discount.. If you don’t mind me asking was a big discount getting them both done together? So hard because i do badly want it done but on the other hand i have a few things coming up and i think it could restrict me. What is the pain like for you atm and are you able to exercise?

Sorry to throw all these questions at you xx

Haha yes lots if Qus, but I’ll do my best to answer them all! If I miss anything let me know!!

Firstly though – did you have you BA done at MYA? Because if you did and less than 10yrs ago and something is wrong they will re do for free so won’t cost you! So having vaser at same time FINANCIALLY won’t cost more, but it could still make sense to have done together because of 2 reasons; 1. Your body wouldn’t have to go through 2 seperate traumas and cause you to take 2 lots of antibiotics (not sure if I’ve seen news but antibiotics all the time just make u immune to them and if u ever get really sick in future they may no longer work so always best to avoid as much as possible!)? 2. You won’t have to take 2 lots of time off work and generally have to put up with recovery (vaser takes more time than most places advertise it to!!)

I don’t think I’m allowed to talk ££ on forum, but it was a big discount to me yes and I couldn’t have afforded vaser if wasn’t doing the add on with my BA.

Ok so now for ur Qus about garment & recovery after vaser:

So it’s POSSIBLE but very HARD to bend in the first 4 weeks because you wear a huge padded foam vest underneath the spanx style garment. Also for first few days you wouldn’t WANT to bed as it’s wayyyy too sore!!! Even after you take the foam best off, the spanx garment is tight and I have to wear another gentler panic from high street underneath to stop it pinching and digging in causing lumps and sores. I’m at that stage now and it’s ok for most of day but come 6-8pm I must swell up a bit because it starts to feel tighter and pinches so much it hurts to sit or lie down so I do a lot of standing before bed haha!!

I’m 4 and a half weeks post op after BA & vaser and I am still restricted in what I can do, I still need a lot of pillows at night and can’t sit in one position for too long (long car journeys are hell – passenger let alone driving long distances. I can go to shops 10mins away ok etc now) but your defo not allowed for 6 weeks to do ANY exercise if you have a BA too. And my sis had hers done last year and said even at week 10 A&E could not run or do anything vigorous. So it’s prob 2months before can really go back to proper exercise, but everyone is different I guess.

Also, after vaser your incisions will be visable and you could have indented lines on skin and lingering bruises (I just have one bruise that won’t go yet and a few red areas from the garment I think!) so depending what your holiday involves this may bother you? If it’s a winter retreat or something and I’ll be covered up it won’t matter!

Also as I mentioned before swelling seems to happen (at least For me!) in eves. So I’m generally not swollen much in day but at night I am and so uncomfortable and for 3 weeks especially I barely slept!! I’m sleeping better now but I usually still wake 1-2 times uncomfortable and have to reposition.

The most or rating thing tbh is the first 4weeks roman vest
You have to wear because it literally makes u look so big and like a hunchback! I reeeally struggled to find clothes to hide it – infact in end I bought maternity clothes and actually pretended I was 😉 obviously not to people I know hahaha!!

I’ll be 5 weeks post op on thurs and I’m finally going to attempt a (train) journey up to see friends and going to attempt to disguise my uncomfort and garment under normal clothes to go out with the girls on Friday night! I’ll let I know how successful that is haha! I’m worried because as I said it’s night time I swell up most!!
Final thought – I I didn’t get thighs but from what I’ve read thighs take longest to stop being swollen and show results, mainly because gravity pushes swelling down ( I was sooo swollen and purple (!!) in pubic area and upper legs even though lowest vasered area I had was lower abdomen!) and for alot of people thigh vaser they seem to bruise much worse than other areas (but again everyone is different!) plus you need to rest longer because naturally ur on your legs more in the day so swells up faster!

Phew!! I think that’s all your qus answered?! Let me know if I missed anything!

Ps vaser is amazing! Recovery (especially with a BA too) is a pain for 4-6 weeks cos ur restricted) but the results FAR out way all that 🙂 xxx

Thanks for all the info.. You covered it all ha! Yes I only had my ba done last July with MYA but I thought you still had today so much towards the surgery..I didn’t think it was completely free :s my holiday is just a annual family trip away.. If it’s warm we’ll go to the beach but even so it’s a private one so wouldn’t have to worry around family. I should be ok exercise wise.. I wasn’t a gym-goer when I had my ba done, I do like to go now but I’m sure I’ll live without going. I have managed to move my appointment for my boobs to tomorrow eve so I should have more info on whether or not there is an issue that needs operating on to rectify it. If not then it’s just a question of whether or not to go ahead with vaser. A little worried about taking the time of work as I have obv booked my weeks holiday which is 2/w later so not sure if I’d get as long as I’d need off. Xxx

If there’s a problem such as a Cc they redo for free. I’m positive on this because it’s the reason I chose mya after getting a CC with a diff company in past! Is this what your worried about?

Gosh I wouldn’t want to sit on a beach with this garment on especially with the foam vest!! It’s SO hot in it!!!! But I guess you could just sit in the shade with a kaftan on (buy one 2-3 sizes bigger than u normally are – I was a 10-12 before and had to buy 14-16 size clothes to fit over the foam vest!!!!)

Atleast you’ll be resting rather than at work this way though! As long day can get the time off work like u say, you prob only need 3-5days off as long as you have a sitting down job? What do u do? And also aslong as it doesn’t matter what you look like because you will be walking funny in the garment and wearing rent clothes hehe! X
