Hhhmmm you may have to change your bank account name hun as I’m pretty sure they have to match x

You can’t hun you need to change ur name on your bank account. And passport. If you’ve changed your name legally to soper – everything needs to be put in that name xxx

Or try taking you change of name deeds to the bank when u put the cheque in! xxx

Yeah they do have to match. I’m sure if you give the bank documentary evidence they will change your account and pay the cheque straight in. x

they have to match, i had this hassle with my son as he has a different surname to me (in the process of changing his to my married name-to-be), he has my parents last name and i got a cheque with his first name and my last name, and asked the bank what to do, and i had to ask for the cheque to be re-written correctly (i felt cheeky asking), but the good thing about cheques is theres no end date on cashing them in, so as long as your name change is legal, then the bank will change your account details, and you can cash it in xx

I had a similar problem hun, the bank said they would accept the cheque if I had the official document used to change my name e.g marriage cert, deed pole certificate. I took that in and showed them and they were fine :) so if you changed your name at the solicitors via deed pole, just take your deed poll documents in with you, should be fine :)
