tongue piercing

I am looking to have a BA and was wondering if anyone who has had the op has their tongue pierced? and whether you had to take it out or whether you were able to put in a plastic retainer?

All piercings have to come out Hun I have my Tongue pierced twice and I really don’t want to take them out but deffinately will it means having boobs x

I have my tongue pierced and took it out for the op put it in the next morning, was a bit of a stugle as my fella was doing it but got it in lol

all piercings and flase nails need to be off hun

i have my tragus (the little middle bit of my ear) pierced and it physically wouldnt come out, both me my mum and the nurse tried to get it out but it wouldnt so they covered it over with tape. i had to sign something to say they’d warned me that due to the anaesthetic it could heat up and burn my ear but nothing happened so it was ok.
probably different with tongue piercings though! and if u can get it out then its probs best as it burning you would be pretty bad! xx

hey yeah i have a tongue piercing, i had to take it out, im pretty sure they will make u take it out .. perhaps more so than any other piercing as its in your mouth and they need to put a tube there and stuff.. they even had to take into account that i had a bridge in between two teeth so they could be careful where the tube..breathing thing (no idea what its called) is resting.. i took mine out then i just put it back in when i got back to the room so was only out for about 45mins so it went back in easily!

oh also if u have trouble taking it off, i did with my belly piercing ive had it years and never been able to take it out.. the nurse was foreign and didnt seem to understand that i WANTED to take it out but couldnt.. so she went to get me one of those forms to sign.. she wouldnt help me because she was squeamish with piercings? but a nurse? very odd lol anyway they had a pack of rubber gloves on the wall (in highgate anyway) so i used those and it makes taking piercings off easier because your hands dont slide.. also if u want some1 to put your piercing back in when u come out and they dont want to be poking around in your mouth gloves are handy for them too hehe x

Hi Hun I have quite a few piercings I had to take all mine out but put them back in straight after the op and was fine x

i have my tounge pierced and i can leave it out for days at a time and have no probs putting it back in, also i have my belly pierced and had to take it out for months when i was pregnant..again that went straight back in. you’d be surprised how long you could leave your piercings out for xx

hey chick u have to take ir out,, u cannot wear a plastic on cos of the thing they use to keep yr airways open,, u can put ir back in straight after surgery i didnt bother thou fancied a changexxx

HE HE… s’pose my nipple piercing will aV to come out then too!! … wonder when I’ll be able to get that back in post BA ….ANYONE KNOW ??? 😉
