Travelling after BA

I may have a 5 hour bus journey ahead of me on my 2nd day PO, is this do-able?

Eek im still pre op but ive had an operation before and not a chance would I have managed that on day 2 im afraid hun. Do you have to do it? x

Oh no! Really? Well, after the Op I will be staying with a friend as I will be a little way from home but then will really want to get back home, which is a 5 hour coach trip away. Its not compulsory but I know im just going to want to be at home, which day would you say at earliest? x

Hopefully someone post op will comment cos I had a laparoscopy which is obviously different but I don’t think I could cope with that til about day 4-5. Is it a BA you are having? Thats a toughie cos you will so want your own home comforts. Is there no one who could take you in a car? When’s your op? Xx

I had my op on friday,I recovered from the GA really well,ate and drank,went to the loo,wasnt dizzy at all,I was allowed home on the train same day.I didnt use MYA,But MYA may not allow it,I was booked in for an overnight stay,but i felt well enough to go home,slept so much better in my own bed,but everyone reacts to the GA differently honey,just see how it goes.I would have stayed if I had to.xxx

Sorry mine wasnt BA,it was fat transfers from inner and outer thigh to face,looked great coming back on the train,lol,xxxx

Back on the train the same day? Omg, how is it looking now? Swelling gone down? Yeah I am having a BA, hopefully booking up for November 7th in Manchester and then have to travel down to Bristol, maybe il wait till day 4?!! Hard to judge pre op I dont think il be too excited about travelling but aslong as I can move I know I will be very keen to have my home comforts and theres no1 that can drive me other than the old reliable Megabus, haha! Oh dear! xx

i had a 4hr car journey 14hrs after my ba it was fine, but the pain didnt kick in properly untill day 2.

i had unders which is sopossed to be more painfull so i guess it depends what your having hun.

i cant remember who it was but i remember someone on here saying she went to the pub for food after her ba and she had overs so id see how you feel on the day hun xx

When are you having your op? I’m having mine on 30th Oct and having a 7 hour car journey home the day after. If you are after me, i can pm you and tell you my experience after my journey if that helps?

Oooh that would be great! Thankyou! I am hopefully getting booked in or November 7th and have to travel Manchester to Bristol soon as after as il want to get home. But yeh I guess its different for each person xx

i had a 4 hour drive the day after my surgery and i was fine to be honest. but wouldnt want to be travelling home on my own. can someone go with you? xxx

I’m 2 days PO from unders and it seems to be getting worse! Day of surgery I was pretty much fine (high as a kite from three lots of morphine). Yesterday it started to get more painful, my bandages are so tight! Today has been worse and I am sooo tired from not sleeping well! I would say it depends on if you’re having unders or overs – I think the recovery varies for these. I really couldn’t think of getting on a bus now hun! PM me if you want more details on how I’m feeling PO 3,4 or 5 days if you want xx
