Hiya, ive been in lots of contact with Mya prior to my consultation on 17 April and ba in may n they r absolutely fab. Anyway my question is, I’ll b travelling home the day after my ba by taxi which is 240 miles about 4 hours. I’ve spoken to some people who say they wouldn be up for travelling that distance the next day it would be too uncomfortable. Has anybody travelled this distance home? I’ll b at highgate travelling down to Plymouth. Thanks girls x x

Hmmm I only had to travel 125miles (London to Bath) which was no problem but that is only halve the distance! I think as it’s mostly main roads which are smooth you should be ok. 2 weeks post op I even now find that when driving on rural roads with pot holes etc, it can cause a bit of pain but the main roads are ok. Even though I didn’t have to go as far as you will be, I’d say you’d be ok :-)

Hiya, i didnt have far to travel mile wise but got released in peak traffic, so the 1 hr journey took 2 hrs :0( i found using a v pillow helped alot. my hubby tucked one end under the seat belt on my shoulder and the other end under the seat belt near where it clips in, if this makes any sense, the pillow was wrapped round me and me and it meant the seat belt didnt lye in between my new boobies! I also found closing my eyes for the whole journey helped!! it meant i stayed relaxed and didnt tense up in aticipation of a speed bump, pot hole etc, I’m sure you’ll be fine, take the pain killers x

Hi, I intended to travel from Doncaster to Newcastle last Saturday following my BA, I did not feel up to it and broke the journey up by staying with my parents, I however was a late patient and did not have my procedure until 5.30pm and was released at 11am so it could be that an early appointment would give you more time to recover. The motorway wasn’t that bad, it was the pot holes, but the V pillow really helped and has been a god send over the past week of recovery.x good luck

I had BA at 1pm on 1st April – travelled home from Manc to Newcastle yesterday at 4.30pm and was fine – just make sure they give you a strong painkiller before you leave and careful getting out car x
