    Hi Girls
I’m due to have my ba on Wednesday (OMG NOT LONG TO GO!!!) at Manchester and was wondering if anybody has travelled back home immediately after being discharged from hospital? Going in as a day case! Not got my admission time or anything yet which doesn’t help!!!
I know they like you to stay within a hours drive from the hospital, which is what I had planned, but now, I don’t really have anyone to look after my children and take them to and from school etc. I Could do with coming home straight away so my hubby can look after the kids and do the school runs. I will have at least a 2 hour drive (on a good day) back home from the hospital. Has anybody done this before or do you not think the hospital will allow it? I know the reasons why they like you being within a hour of the hospital, but hopefully, fingers crossed all will be ok. I just don’t know what to do for the best. Any advice anyone???

    Thanks xxx

i would ring and speak to your PC they will tell you what time to be at the hospital and if you can go home stright away.
Out of all honesty im sure that they would recommend that you stay close by. Speak with you PC because im sure that they have come accoss this before.

Hope everything gets sorted, keep us posted with what they say.
    Good luck!

    Hi jojo
Yeah, I will have to ring them I think. Thought I would of had my admisson time by now tho!! I will keep you posted. Thanks xx

Sorry roxy, When I said I have over a 2 hour drive, I didn’t mean that I would be driving. sorry for my post not being clear!! I know you can’t drive. Don’t think I would be able to even if you were allowed lol. Hubby will be doing the driving. xx

I wouldn’t say it wud be good idea, 1. Being in a car is very uncomfortable 2. If anything goes wrong or u need to see anyone then a normal hosp or doc won’t touch u u’ll have to go bk to manch! I’m sure u’ll be fine and have no prob buts I guess there’s good reason they tell u to stay close to hosp!xxx
