I was told I can have overs, but I intend on losing more weight after I recover and start running. And I’ve seen couple of gym instructors with overs, it looks gross as they are skinny. You can see major rippling all over her chest and around. It looks like a saggy ball in a leather sack.
I also work out at the gym but I’m happy to give up working my chest for a more appealing look. I would hate to have a boob job and be ashamed to show my cleavage. So recovery is slower as they have a lot to drop and soften. So what… Long term should be better than rippling. But I had to go slightly smaller for that. That’s my personal view on it. It depends what would bother you more.

I was offered both but I choose unders because they seemed to have more pros including less likely to have capsular contraction or rippling, I work out a lot and he said your more likely to see the implant with overs Becus you have less body fat to cover the implant. Also my friends who had overs found they sagged really quickly which made the decision easy for me xx

There’s no real answer to the unders vs overs as everyone will always favour which ever they have lol! Your Dr will best advise you which is best for you, all though my own personal suggestion would be to go with overs if at all possible. I say this as I unusally have had both unders AND overs. I personally found the unders very uncomftable, as they sit under the muscle and your breast does not naturally sit here you can often feel the implant and can be very aware of it pressing against the muscle. Your muscle will also be cut to allow room for the implant which causes some weakening of the chest muscle and arms. If you are a gym bunny it’s best to avoid unders as you feel them all the time when you’re flexing your arms or chest. The down side of overs is that they can look more *fake* all though it’s not always the case. There is no real increase of changes of CC anymore due to the coating they now use on implants, most overs used to be smooth on the outside which caused the incresed rate, smooths are not used at all anymore so it removes this issue. IF you have very thin skin or little tissue overs can give you ripples, there are implants that have 100% fill of silicone in the shell which stops this problem, I myself had little tissue in one breat, none in the other due to mastectomy AND I had a very large size and I still have no ripples, I have a natural slope and most importantly they feel natural to me. All implants will sag over time as they are heavy, it’s suggested we wear sports bras to sleep and good supportive bras the rest of the time to combat this issue. Overs can sag faster if not properly cared for however, when they do sag, they will sag with the natural tissue, the issue with unders is as your natural tissue sags, your implant will still sit high which causes an issue called double bubble. The list of pros and cons for each are so long and you can argue for or aganst either placement all day long lol so it’s always best to see what your Dr suggests for you. I hope this helps.

It’s entirely up to personal preference 🙂 I got partials so mine was partly under the muscle in the upper breast pole and then just under breast tissue in the lower pole! I’ve heard a lot of people refer to this as overs now too as it’s supposed to be very rare for a surgeon to go completely over the muscle nowadays! I searched a couple videos on YouTube and found some American surgeons discussing the pros and cons of each placement technique which you might find helpful 🙂 I also used these websites…

Just a note when researching – try to avoid American based sites or Drs, they do things very differently in the USA, they still use outdated methods and implants such as smooth implants and saline implants which we haven;t used here for years due to the high complication rate, Europe is leaps and bounds ahead of the US in terms of cosmetic surgery so if possible always try to get your info from UK/EU sources 🙂 x
