Is it worth paying the extra to upgrade my implants? This wasn’t something that was mentioned at my consultation. Did your surgeon talk about uprades?

I have implants from the inspira range and they are soo soft, which is surprising as I didn’t have much tissue to start with. I couldn’t have CUI’s as my implants are over 525cc’s but even if I’d had small ones I would have chosen the upgrade. Personally I would say yes, it’s not that much more to pay x

No my surgeon didn’t talk about it until I made another appointment to ask him about them. He told me not to waste my money and that he’d been using cui’s for a lot longer than the other one’s have been around and he hasn’t had any problems. Is there a reason you’re considering upgrading? I was worried about rippling and he said there isn’t an implant that prevents rippling, if you get it with one then you’ll get it with the other. Everyone has a different opinion about them, I’d recommend speaking to your surgeon and see what he/she thinks.

Thanks dolly92, since we are paying so much money a little more makes no difference, if its worth it.

Thanks Belle for your reply, who was your surgeon? I have Mario on 3rd May. I was considering an upgrade after reading comments on here about responsives, less rippling, softer etc.

I had standards and mind r really soft even at 18 days post op. I personally don’t see point in upgrading but each to their own. My surgeon Helena never mentioned upgrading xx

i ended up with the responsives and their already really soft and im only 10days post op :D xx

It is totally personal choice. I had responsives and they feel amazing already, I thought I have spent this much so abit wont hurt as they are gona be in my body for a long time. I don’t think there is much in it but I spoke to a few friends who have had implants, one who works at another cosmetic surgery, and they all said upgrade. It was just abit more peace of mind for me

Check out this video for more info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vFyAEgqJSw

The filler used in CUI’s is no longer regulated in America. It’s known as the old style silicone which is the second implant in the video. Plus they are filled much more to prevent rippling and have a lower rate of rupture and capsular contracture. But some girls have them and have no problems at all. Like I said before, I would personally recommend the inspira’s as they have a lifetime guarantee and feel much more natural xx

Hi dolly, cui is not the old style silicone on that vidio, they are filled with cohesive silicone aswell so the information you are giving is not all correct and could mislead those having or have had cui implants xx

Oh, well my PC told me that they used the old style silicone in the CUI’s. Was just passing on what I was told x

Yeah u frightened me after watching that vidio lol, thought I’d been misled in my consutations, but looked in my cui book an it is cohesive gel thank god as it be too late for me now xx

Dolly92 is right in the sense that cui’s are no longer used In America. They only use the upgraded version. It is personal choice and an extra £400 + is a lot of money when you have spent out over £3000 already but for me I went with the upgraded implant for the whole reason that America no longer supply cui makes me wonder why xx I’m having mine done on 18 April and can’t wait x

I had cui Mr kazzazi didn’t recommend me to have the more expensive ones etc He said if I was going to get rippeling id get it, I’m 4 days po and the sides and underneath already feel nice and soft, my friend had cui 3 yrs ago I had a quick poke of hers b4 I had mine done to see what I was going to feel like, and I was rly suprised they didn’t feel much different to mine natural xx

they are the standard cui range hun but theres two types – MLP/MHP which are the silicone and CMH/CML which are the cohesive gel

Main difference is cohesive is more firm and if you were to cut it open it would stay the same like a gummy bear/jelly baby. If you were to cut a silicone one open the inside would run out as it is more liquid that a solid.

Here is a link for different type of implants used

i was told by my PC that i was having the cohesive gel implants, giving the gummy bear/jelly baby effect if they cut them open, but i had MHP, and this wasnt explained to me at all (neither where the other implants, as i would have paid extra for better implants!)

thanks to this post iv just bawled my eyes out finding out i have silicone and not gel, as i was explanined! thanks girls xx

silicone is a gel and is a soft solid so wil have a more natural feel to it than the cohesive gel and the microcell outer shell reduces risk of rippling. both implants have these.

They will all be fine girls, dont worry – the surgeons will have recommended upgrading if they thought necessary. If they didnt mention it i assume they the surgeon though the standard range would be ideal.

The suregeons do these every week so they will know what they are doing. Its nice to know they didnt just talk us all into upgrading just for extra money!! xx

I’m worried now lol my pc said it wouldnt spill :/ would it harm you if it ruptured? Xx

    Menu

i meant cohesive gel, as i was told. i would have upgraded given the option, but i didnt find out about the different ranges until it was to late, which really annoyed me, i know i rushed through the process, but id have still travelled and seen the other types on offer, as nearly 4k is a load to spend on something to put in our bodies xx

that im not sure, i think any kind of rupture can be harmful and you can rupture with all types of implant even if you pay to upgrade!!

I too was told by my pc i was getting cohesive (gummy bear) implants but since having my ba i noticed in my book it said mlp (which my nurse said was medium low profile which it definatley doesnt mean!! it mean microcell low profile) so i defo had the silicone gel ones.

This doesnt really bother me as at the end of the day my boobs do look pretty much how i wanted them to look but what does bother me is that noobody told me correctly what i was actually having!!! x

cohesive ones are same price hun as silicone gel unless you upgrade to the natrelle ones which i think are £461 more x

    Menu

Ye I know kat when I asked my surgeon what mhp meant He said medium high profile lol xx
