I had a normal ba and my incisions and the under side of my boobs are soooo flaky..so tempting to pick it off lol

    Menu

Yeah i was thinking that its prob unwise to do anything as it will just get into the incisions and could cause infection, i’m going to get some breast pads to stop them being so sore I think.

Vicky, did your vertical scars heal at different speeds making the boobs look different to each other in the early days? xx

    Menu

Yes they did, now l would say that the top parts of my vertical scars look seemless bottom part is taking longer. l think l still have loads of stitches that have not dissolved yet. l creaming all my boobs now in that thick white cream cant think of its name but that is helping too xx Make sure u leave them huni x Ps l used salt water when the nurse said l could get them wet and my hubby with cotton wool bathed them for me. this helped x

Cheers for your message hun, just read it. It’s the bottom part of one of mine that is really weird at the moment, i suppose thats because the weight on that part of it.

Was it sudocreme or dublebase or something? xxx

My boobs were really dry and flaky…i just put up with it and after a few weeks once i could get my boobs wet it got better…the nurse said it was because of the dressings, no air was really getting to them and even after they came off it was hard to moisturise them due to the stitches…it will be fine hun and is perfectly normal xx

Feeling so much better today and yesterday, I bought those bras at Asda, i only managed to get two in my size, Trafford didn’t have much in but i’ll order some more. Their sizes are really generous so i fit in the 34DD which fits perfectly and since i’ve been wearing that in the day and the macom at night, i’ve not had the tightness once, i cannot tell you how relieved I am so thanks for telling me about that xxx

Hiya Blondie, like the girls say, don’t used anything on them yet. Mine went really dry too and the nurse told me I had to just persevere until all my incisions had healed. Now I’m using bio oil and they’re feeling great.

It’s all worth it in the end hunni!

thanks Claire, the nurse nor the hospital tell you much about what to expect so it’s hard to know what is normal. My stitches are all starting to get really itchy now, 10 days post op so i know that must be a good sign and means they’re all healing. My bruising has all gone yellow now so looks like it’s getting better and it doesn’t hurt to hug people now so i’m getting there!

Did you do anything special to help with your healing hun? xx

    Menu

Itching is bloody awful, but yes, it means they’re healing.

I didn’t do anything special. Just listened to the surgeon’s advice. I think I must just have good skin for healing.

The biggest killer for me was not being able to shower. My 1st one was just the best ever!

tell me about it!! I feel disgusting!! i’m not allowed to shower until at least Wed and it’s driving me mad, i just feel grubby as i just can’t wash the same as i can in a shower!

Helena hasn’t really given me much advice, she just said wear your sports bra and use bio oil at 6 weeks, is there anything i’m missing? Vicky has told me about using a salt water bath on the scars once they are healed, using ice packs each day so i’ve just ordered some. xxx

    Menu

There’s not much more to say. Just listen to your body. I think you’d know if something wasn’t feeling right. Salt bathing sounds good but may be a little drying. Once I could shower I bought sanex hypo-allergenic shower gel and used that on a clean sponge every time I showered.

    Menu

that’s a good idea, i guess the bacteria can really build up if you use the same one. I guess alot of it is just common sense, keep it clean, supported and moisturised when i’m allowed xx

    Exactly!! xxx

I agree with petitesnowball, that stuff is amazing! It’s designed for sore n cracked nipples whilst breastfeeding so i imagine should be ok on ur scars, hopefully :) xxx

cheers hun, i have stitches all around my nipples though so i may not be able to put stuff on them at the mo, i may have to wait until the scars are healing properly but will def try that then xxx
