My ops on sunday and I’m meant to be having overs, but having last minute concerns! My surgeon has advised overs as I have enough tissue to hide the implant. However I’m hoping to train to compete in a bodybuilding competition next year (bikini or figure class) so would need to shed a lot of body fat. I’m just concerned I will lose at lot of my natural breast tissue and you’ll end up seeing the edges of the implants quite bad. I just didn’t want unders because I don’t want my chest muscles ‘messed with’ and the long recovery.

Has anyone with very little body fat had overs? Or anyone got rippling who wouldn’t mind me seeing your pics?? I don’t think I’d mind small degree of rippling but I’d like to see pics so I can make my mind up.

my body fat is 12% so dangeroulsy low and i had rippling, 15 months on its disapeared, i could never see it only occasionly feel it, it was unoticable to my bf he could never feel it, it never affected the over all look of my boobs and never bothered me at all, rippling really aint that bad,so many girls worry about it eading up to thier opp, but its really not not a big deal xx

I was worried about this too cos when I saw my surgeon he said ‘don’t be an old skinny person’ haha!! I went back about a few things I was worried about and one of them was I planned on losing just under a stone (at the time was just under 9st wanted to be 8) and he said that was absolutely fine but I could no way have bigger than 375cc as my body wouldn’t likely handle them and they wouldn’t look natural and the chances of rippling would be high etc. . . But, left the decision whether to go under or over, and said we could decide together on the day. I fully planned on having unders and last minute trusted him as he stood by going over would give me the best result. I am glad I trusted him I do love mine, and I’ve lost about half a stone so far and can’t see or even feel the edges of the implants. I would stress ur concerns to ur surgeon to get some reassurance and check the size will def be ok to handle your future plans :) xxx

Thanks for the advice girls. Can I add you lorelei? I think for me the pros of overs probably just outweigh unders. I’d be so scared of distorting the muscle by having unders and not being able to train properly again. I just hope the edges of the implants aren’t really obvious, I don’t think I’ll mind if you can see it a bit I just don’t want to end up like posh spice with 2 tennis balls stuck on my chest lol!

Think I’m just more worried if I’m making the right choices now my ops only in 6 days. I’ve still not even decided on size, it’s so bloody confusing. If only they could show you a pic of what you’re going to look like xx

Hey roch, I absolutely know where you are coming from. I work out a lot, I don’t plan on competing but can’t imagine life without push ups, pull ups and lots of weights. I discussed that with all the surgeons and most do only unders here ( in Germany) anyway, but for now I decided to go with overs. I still have second thoughts sometimes as my surgery is getting closer but the main reason I joined MYA forum is to see how overs look on other lean girls and found so many great boobs on here that I trust myself and what I read about distortion and decided to get overs. I know there are many fitness athletes who never had trouble with unders and the posh look and rippling concerns me also but I just hope for the best. I also have to lose weight and want to be leaner again but my surgeon said I’ll still be ok. Try to lose as much as I can in the next three weeks.

Yea that’s fine to add me, I specifically asked for soo many things from my surgeon and one was strictly no ridges at the top cos I was too worried about the stuck on look, so just tell him, I told him, well reminded him on the day lol, absolutely no ridge and he was soo good to me and I got every detail spot on.that I asked for!! Xx

amw4u I’m going to discuss my concerns with my surgeon before my op but he prefers to do overs unless unders are absolutley necessary so I think he’d still definitely say I should have overs. I’ll just have to hope for the best….so scary!

Thanks for the add lorelei your pics look great. You look similar to me pre-op and have ended up with a really nice shape, I’d be really happy if my turn out like yours xx

i have low body fat 14% and im having overs on 22may, i lost a lot of weight and want them filled out again, im having mr C and he said no more than 295 or else i may have rippling. i too do loads of weights etc and am slightly worried of going back to my normal workout routine with no problems. lorelei if mine look as good as yours i will be very happy, roch you will be fine and best of luck with your op and your bodybuilding comp. how long did the surgeon say you had to wait till you can lift weights again? mine said at least 6 weeks. im a little nervous about trying weights again after my ba incase i cant lift my normal weight, think i may need to have my trainer with me on standby just incase lol x

Thanks sarahlouise. When I originally saw my surgeon I wasn’t thinking about doing a bodybuilding comp, although I did stress that I played a lot of netball and did weights and cardio in the gym. He said it should cause me no problems what so ever and that I could start exercising again after 6 weeks and competitive netball after 3 months. I think if we’re having overs and listen to our bodies and not push it too hard to start with we’ll be okay. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway lol! I have spoken to nikki before though and she does loads of exercise without any problems xx
