v.girly/personal question!-bt it isnt about boobs!!!

Im meant to be gettingthe coil fitted soon but iv had no kids and been told by the nurs it can be ‘uncomfortable’, but my mat has said if u havent had any kids it is VERY painful.but she hasnt actually had it done.has anyone with no kids?cud anyone tell me how bad it is!!!? thanks x

My sister has had it. No kids. She said it was very uncomfortable. A wierd feeling. That’s all il say though as I never had it done. She also had to have a operation to have it removed as the nurse could not remove it. She was in great discomfort. I don’t like the sound of them myself. Xx

I had it too, no kids, having it put in was probably the most painful experience I have ever gone through, then 3 months of a lot of discomfort and taking it out prob second most painful thing ever. That’s only my experience tho. I have the depo injection now, I didn’t get on with the pill but injection is great

Hev ive had the coil, n its just like a smear, pain or comfort wise. Its no big deal. I was crapping myself b4 I went imaginin all this pain, but it was like pressure feeling then kind of a pop, then its done! Takes 1 or 2 minutes. X

sure u dont just have a really high pain thresh hold.haa.n u havent had any kids kerry?!i want to get it because i keep forgetting to take the pill but iv heard the implant or injection can make u put loads of weight on…hmm. ill just book the next day off work!!thanks x

Lol. No high pain threshold! Ive also got 4 tattoos n to me they hurt way more! I do have 2 kids but I had a coil b4 and after they were born n pain wise its the same. Its not really pain, a sneeze lasts longer! Honestly nothin to worry about. N as for puttin on weight, I dint so much as gain an ounce!! X

Oh n I ad the implant gor a year too, n that did hurt puttin it in!! N it was restin on a nerve so everytime I knocked it for the year, sent pains down my arm, not nice. N gettin it took out… Well lets just say, id never have one again! X

Hev I have 5 tattoos including a large one right across my back, and I don’t think they hurt hardly at all, also none on my ladybits either!!! I found it a lot more painful than smears. I haven’t put on weight from injection although my boobs got a bit bigger which they never did on the pill! Also, my periods were v heavy with coil and since having injection no period for 4 years!!! Everyone’s different tho, but I know drs recommend not having it before kids, I actually fainted with the pain when they put it in, my boyfriend had to come and collect me from the clinic, was so embarrassing!

O no princess76, sounds like u had a rough time of it! Spose these sort of things affect us all in different ways, as do ba’s and recovery etc xxx

Yeah apparently they caught my cervix on the way in and that’s what triggered the fainting, have had bit of pain with BA as well, so I prob have a low pain threshold anyway (tattoos not included lol but thats addictive pain anyway!)

I’ve had the implant in for nearly a year and haven’t put on any weight. I did get the munchies when I first put it in but so long as you are strict and make sure you eat like normal then you will be fine. Also I just have to look at a piece of cake and I’ll put on 2 lbs! Lol xx

I had the coil fitted hun and i was so worried but its nothing really. Mild discomfort for afew seconds and its done and ur protected for at least 5 years. Still get it done u will be fine x x x

The coil has no hormones so defo shouldn’t make u put on weight. I’ve never had it, been told it’s a bit uncomfortable but that’s it. Depo all the way for me. No periods= bliss!xxx

They give u an injection to numb you now. Injection stings but can’t feel pain. Like a hard pushing. Lasts no longer than 20 secs! I swear by it. Use it still after in had my baby. My 16 yr old sister had it to. She said felt like a hard period pain. Ull be fibr

One of the coils (the mirena) does release hormones the same as the injection and implant, so may have same issues re possible weight gain etc if that’s the one they would be using x
